Well, she'd better look good with that CRAP song she did. It sounded like some horrible teen pop tune. I like some of her stuff, but she's going to totally alienate her original fans and the kids she's targeting won't want her over Brittany or whoever else they're listening to this week. :|

I'm not a huge Jewel fan, but I have always had a huge amount of respect for her, because she never "sold out" her talents or her looks by entering mainstream pop.

I hope this is just a phase for her.

 
I met Jewel this past Saturday. She was on her way to Jersey from Boston, and she stopped off in Hartford at Max Downtown, a popular restaurant here. Me and a few friends stopped off for drinks/dinner, and who comes strolling in.....Jewel and her entourage. There were a few kids eating dinner before their senior prom. So what did she do? She went up to a couple and starting b.s'ing about the prom and stuff, and she asked if they would like to arrive to their prom in her tour bus. She and her crew ate their meal, and off they went, and they gave that lucky boy/girl a memory I'm sure they'll talk about forever. She was so down to earth, and she's absolutely gorgeous in person. She wasn't bitchy about signing autographs, she took the time to sign for everyone that asked, and she posed for a few pictures. This is one time I wish my cell phone had a camera.

Downtown Hartford, across from the Civic Center on Asylum St (It's attached to Cityplace). I work inside Cityplace so it's a usual hangout on for Happy Hour. Just got lucky that Jewel happened to show up out of the blue. If someone's performing in town, it's not unusual for them to go to a place downtown to eat, but it was wierd that she just appeared for a pitstop for dinner enroute to Boston.
