i loved Jet Moto 1. so i decided to buy it.
little did i know it looks so pixelated on my lcd screen...it was barely playable. this is my first time buying a clasic game off the PSN 🙁
the other 1080p games i got looks great though.

It's a PS1 game being played on a PS3, upscaled to fit your screen.
Go pop in your PS1 disc, and it'll look the same. Trust me. We played the actual disc in my PS3 since my roomies last year had the game, and it was very pixelated. Didn't stop up from playing though.
But no, it's not a 1080p or even 720p game. It's a PS1 game. If it bothers you, you won't enjoy any PS1 games on the PS3 then.

Ya, I bought the original Warhawk, because I loved that game back in the day. It's amazing how it's aged 🙂. That'll be the last money I spend on a PS1 game. However, I have been playing some FFVII lately, and the pre-rendered backgrounds do wonders for that 11 year-old game to keep it playable (at least IMO....graphics are important to me, I don't care how unpopular it is to talk about graphics around the gaming net nerds).

yeah, once you bring in 3d games (I can always enjoy standard 2d games of yesteryear), graphics mean a lot to me, and can be hard to force myself to play even PS2 games now. It hurts being so addicted to quality graphics, of which continues to bump up in levels every so often.

I don't need drop dead gorgeous graphics, but there are some older 3D games that'll I'll fire up and think to myself, "how could I stand this before?"

I think most of it has to do with art direction, because some games have a sort of timeless feel to them, and this includes 2D games...they need to be decent, any old 2D game won't necessarily cut it.

This carries over into newer games as well...the game doesn't need all the spectacular or mind boggling graphics - it just needs suitable art direction to 'feel' right, and then it (along with any game, ones with amazing graphics included) needs the game play to carry it.
