All out free for all in an open ring.

One of my friends thinks that the up and coming Tony Jaa should be considered a martial arts legend. I cannot even fathom why he should be up there with only 2 movies on his belt and unproven talent.

Sorry guys, Bruce Lee is NOT to be added.

Is this a Wire-Fu fight or a regular Kung-Fu fight?

Jet lee does Wushu a purely for show form of martial arts. And Muay Thai is a fkn joke outside of ong bak.
1) Chan
2) Li
3) Jaa (should stick to making Pad Thai)

OUCH with the Jaa comment but that's how I feel too.

However, Jet Li won the Chinese Wushu national championships 5 times!

Jet Li can't even fight. He is basically a gymnast who does martial arts.

Jaa > Chan > Li

i think jaa.. he's got training in gymnastics, kick boxing, taekwondo, judo and aikido.

jackie chan's got Most notably hapkido, tae kwondo, judo, shaolin and wing chun kung fu.

and jet li's got wushu.. which is basically a dance

i like li the best though.. he just looks cool, regardless of wether he can really fight.. jackie chan is awesome too, but he's 51.. jaa can just flat out fight

I'd have to say jaa, moi thai/kickboxing is the best on your feet fighting you can get. Judo, aikido, etc will help if he needs to grapple (if its origianl aikido and not the revised aikido from the 1920's). Although none of them know bjj so it is really up in the air as 90% of fights end up on the ground. Which is why MMA fighters train in BJJ and kickboxing.

On this topic. I recently got owned by an aikido artist. And plan to start taking classes soon. (I'm a long time hapkido, tae kwondo guy who spent the last year training in krav maga). I think aikido is just amazing. It doesn't look like it should work, but oh boy does it lay down the pain. I was always making fun of it until I got taken down hard by a guy who's done it for a decade or so. I mean I've only got 10 years exp in hapkido and taekwondo, but he was able to read me like a book, was well prepared and threw me around like a rag doll. Might of been more painfull if I didn't know how to fall though. And dont even get me started on how fast a fight is over with 1 wrist lock. When you get put in a wrist lock, the only thing you can think of is how to make that person happy again so they will let you go.

Jet Li admitted that UFC fighters would kill him in a fight.

At least he's honest and knows his place in the prcking order.
