I installed this program and can't select any of the menu items. That's because the program creates a window that takes up part of the screen, but the mouse is only visible on the non-window part of the screen. It's just a generic mouse and works in every other programme. I thought maybe the game was MS-DOS only, but cannot run the game when the system is restarted in MS-DOS mode. Installing a MS-DOS mouse driver was ineffective as well.
So then I thought the game had been written to be the top-most 'layer' on a screen and that maybe the mouse was on a 'lower' layer. But if I start up an additional program, say Windows Explorer, the mouse is visible all over the screen -- explorer is the active layer. But if I toggle back to the game, the mouse disappears again over the game window. I could deal with the disappearing if I could at least click on the options -- but I can't as long as the mouse is over (or rather under) the game window.
All my other games work fine -- the mouse is visible and usable. Any advice -- other than canning the game?
