Dent repair, paint correction cost + time car will be tied up in the shop to have it done so now you gotta find a way to not only drop off and pick up the car you need to find a way to get to work. That's after you have to spend time trying to find race organizers and talking to police to review the footage and to give them the cyclist #'s for the police report.

Knowing the typical cyclist around here wouldn't be surprised if that car ended up with dozens of fist shaped dents in the side from other shit heads punching the car.
The biker brigades around here are total scumbags. Something about putting a large group of dudes in tights on 2 wheels in tight proximity to each other.

Wish I knew the backstory. Speed looks good enough to be an organized race (plus the fact that the riders didn't stop), in which case, the organizers screwed up, or this guy drove around a barrier. In either case, pull the hell off the road. The guys ahead were pointing out the 'obstacle' (pointing with arm or elbow) - but at least one guy wasn't paying attention, those behind him were doomed. Without the detail, I don't know who's at fault.

I think if I lived in Australia (I wouldn't but...), I think I would keep a flame throwing in the garage. And maybe a portable one for hiking. The whole country is a creature double feature!
