Obviously "purpose-built" summer/high-performance or winter/snow-tires will outperform
ANY "compromise" all-season tire
in the conditions they were designed for, however the "best of type" AS tires these days are pretty dang good at the "jack of all trades" thing. (as is my Honda!)
They are a
requirement in New England where my morning commute can start sunny the mid-60's f and the evening trip home with an ice-storm or 6 inches of heavy wet snow and temps in the 20's f.
