I had never heard of this guy.

Screen%20Shot%202022-04-11%20at%2010.29.30%20AM.png

His name was Aimo Koivunen, an absolute legend.

Crazy Mofo pulls off a Scandi Rambo

Cliffs: separated from unit, had all his squad's perviten. Contact! Couldn't handle the pills individually with arctic mittens, so he downed the lot. So began a two week meth fueled killing spree punctuated with heavy skiing. Took the Germans on solo. On skis. Eventually pulled from battlefield badly wounded, covered in German guts and weighing only 96 lbs.

Look at that gaze. I have no problem believing he was in the Live Bird Dining Club. Survived the war and lived to 71.

Imagine it’s this guy who gets the puzzle box:
View attachment 60279

And when pinhead shows up he’s all like “Morpheus blew up my gate to hell. Can I get a lift?”
Man, Event Horizon scared the shit out of me when I first saw it. It's probably one of the first movies I remember being truly scary for me and I watched tonnns of horror as a kid. Something just chilling about it.

I wasn't a kid when I saw this in the theater and it scared the crap out of me.

The drive-system on that ship looked like something that WOULD open a gateway to hell!

*(potential spoilers in second video... ALSO it's SCARY AF !!!)

It was a disturbing movie. Apparently they had footage of even more disturbing imagery for when the doctor shows Lawrence Fishburn what's in store for him in hell. It was to go into an unrated directors cut but the footage wasn't stored correctly and was too damaged to use. Probably for the best.

Some people also consider this an unofficial prequel to Warhammer 40K.

Interesting .... I have this movie on DVD somewhere and to the best of my recollection its some kind of "extended" edition with a bunch of "extra" scenes.

Now I'll have to go dig it up when I have time and take a look! :)

Here was the article that talked about the various footage that was cut and then subsequently lost.

Although this footage is only briefly seen in the movie, make-up effects artist Bob Keen would estimate that the sequence took around a week to film, and was preceded by a month's worth of prep, to ready the scenes many grotesque "gags." "We used amputees and porn stars," producer Jeremy Bolt said of shooting the footage during a 2011 Q&A. "We figured, if you’re going to go to hell, you've really got to do it. You can’t tap dance."
The "hell" footage was shot on weekends and, Anderson believes, was not closely inspected at the time by Paramount executives. "What happened is, I would shoot with the main unit on the weeks and I would shoot the weekends with what we called a reduced unit," said the director. "I think because it was reduced unit footage, the studio never bothered watching it, because they thought, Oh, it’s inserts of buttons being pressed or something like that. But it was actually all of the hell footage. So, it was endless amounts of orgies and blood and intestines and big stakes shoved up people’s arses. I mean, it was really disturbing stuff and very sadomasochistic and very influenced by Hieronymus Bosch and Brueghel as well. So, there was a real beauty to it even though it was very disturbing."

I think some of you guys are lost. This is a thread for funny ENTERTAINING not simply amusing pics and memes. (and vids)

fixed. ;)

*(we've covered this in the past.... really anything that makes you loudly exclaim: "Jeebus H christ !!!" works IMO and that can cover a lot of ground. Personally I make an effort NOT to post anything truly "distressing" here though and even though its fictional Event-Horizon IS "borderline" there sorry.

Now that I think about it yeah it's actually probably the best live action 40K universe film ever made. I've never made the connection before.

Side note, 40K has so much potential for proper grimdark horror films it's maddening how in 2022 fan creations are still better than anything official.

Aaanndd that's my cue, for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Must spread the Emperor's message, and all that.
