This is 100% real! I've been to Japan 3 times in the past 10 years or so. I took my wife for our Anniversary a couple of years ago and we stumbled upon these walking around Tokyo (it could have been Osaka, but I think it was Tokyo). We got a laugh out of it.

I found this on my wall on Facebook from 9 years ago ! Its pretty damn funny, i owned a 1965 newport and well the experience was about mirrored. I did get better mileage to a 383 though, about 15 on a good day. I love the Matlock theme, it just locks in the funny. I believe this may be one of the largest production 2 door coupes ever made if i recall.
