I have seen a couple like this, actors in movies shooting at something and replacing what's getting hit with kids, including one with Arnold shooting his gun in what looks like predator and having it show as hitting kids and was wondering if there was a story to it like in other meme's:

I lol'd when reading the comments.

we're currently looking at this critter b/c we want to sequence it and this was the first hit--I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the bacteria inside this thing so that we don't sequence it.

I envy your job.

As for getting the bacterial DNA out I'm sure whatever you guys figure out will involve some form of "primer fishing", right? That is assembling bacterial DNA primers that match what you are trying to get rid of then "fishing" out the bacterial DNA. Not that I know what I'm talking about ;) :p

well, that can be done. but the sequencing is so expensive, we'd rather not waste the money actually sequencing the bacterial DNA and then dealing with it later. Some of that will have to be done, in the end, but reducing the overall presence of bacterial genome would help.

it appears that most of it is transferred to the female's eggs, so I'm working on squeezing those little bastards out of her before grinding her up.

operon is pretty cheap. we send all out stuff out to them for sequencing. if you do a 96 well plate its cheaper than sending them out individually.

Thanks for the explanation. Still, I don't see how that can be faster than anything but the slowest cassette decks. I only ever used a pen to retract the tape when it came out of the package and was completely unaware of this usage. I'm pretty sure that my brother and others who claimed to "get it" were talking about knowing that a pen fits and turns it but not necessarily aware that this was a "fast" rewind/FF method.

Yeah. I was thinking about retracting a tape after it was "eaten up" and pulled from the cassette.

Uhh, why? It's obviously a joke/not real.

Jeeze, brother. He's obviously saying that it made him laugh so hard that he shed a tear.

People say this all the time when they laugh hysterically at something. It's not a metaphor either. Don't you often have to wipe a tear after laughing especially hard?

[edit]
Happened just now with this one:

Mouth movements don't match, even if it was actually said. :(

Hrmm, I thought so too at first but after some examination it is my unprofessional opinion that they do actually match up. Harder to detect on the top one I think.

Anyone else?

Is it that while they move their mouths to appear normal, they are actually using some psychic ability to communicate that leads to such bad matching of what is said to movements?
