what the hell were you going to do with your gun ? Shoot the theif ?

Duh?

if by "duh" you mean "gosh I hope not , cuz shooting a guy who is breaking in to your car is one of the most stupid things you can do", then Ok, I get it.

why?

because it is a much bigger crime than the one being commited by the theif.

So what if you shoot the dude in his leg? Just because you have a gun doesn't automatically mean you kill the scum sucking ratbastard.

The only time you can inflict physical harm on another person is if your own physical well being is in danger.

If someone is breaking into my property I would have no doubt about their intentions towards me.

to rob you ? yes. To harm you ? probably not. Most theives are pussies, and will run at any sign of being caught.

Exactly. Pussies. They see a gun and scram. Just the sight of a gun puts the fear in people.

This shyt always comes in three's, I'm waiting to see what's next.
Last night my wife's Grandma passed away. This morning I destroyed my tractor.
Paging "life's little speedbumps" entry number three...
Go kiss your woman, man.
This shyt will pass. 🙂

Keep us posted if APC refuses to make good on their attached equipment warranty. My Dad protects some very expensive equipment with APC UPS's and I'd hate to see him get bent over if the APC warranty is nothing but marketing fluff.

That was last night, in the last month:
Fuel pump in truck (4X4 diesel) goes out $600
Speedo computer goes out $366
Water Heater in MH goes out $400
Trans in truck goes out $2900
🙁

Will do.
I am re-keying the whole house right now and then have to go buy new ignition switch for truck and have doors re-keyed. I'll look for the warranty card/info later today.

The theft had already taken place when the power went off. Since they had the keys to the house, the first thing that came to my mind was there were back to rob us. (Otherwise, why take the keys?) The gun was for protection. If they were there to rob, it is safe to assume they are armed. I wouldn't shoot at somone unless they were threating us with physical harm. Then I wouldn't hesitate. If they were there and not armed, it might be possible to hold them at gun point while the police come.

If you were to hold them at gun point ask them to cook you a gourmet dinner or maybe a grilled cheese sandwich would be fine. I'm kinda hungry now.

My wifes car was broken into last night about about 8:00 pm. They got her cell phone, Alpine stereo and keys to the house, mailbox and my truck. I removed the batteries from my truck and as I was re-keying the front door, our power went out. I thought, WTF, they came back to break in! I flew down the hall in the dark, grabbed a handgun and ran outside. The power was out everywhere. 😱 The neighbor must have thought I was strange standing out there with a gun.
Later I went to get on my PC which was running when the power went out. It had rebooted and was stuck at the loading windows screen. The power outage and possible surge on restart fired the controllers on the mobo or my hdd. I have 2 Raptors in RAID 0. At least I have a recent back up.
I hope APC makes good on their UPS warranty.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programmig.

Why are your house keys, the cellphone, other car keys in your wife's car? Did she leave her purse?

She used the remote for the garage and came through there. She didn't think to take the other items which were in the cener console.

screw it, just shoot em, they stole from you. in my book you deserve the right to shoot them 🙂

I agree 110%. Unfortunately, the courts don't.

Man, you're lucky no police cruiser went by your house, or else you would've been shot at.

But what I wanna know is why are your possession in your wife's car? "keys to the house, mailbox and my truck." Was the wife's car in the garage or parked outside?

The possesions were in here car, parked outside the garage. She did it because she's a girl.
