>>Allah or Jesus? by Rick Mathes
>>
>>Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for
>>maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training
>>session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman
>>Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their belief
>>systems
>>
>>I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The
>>Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a
>>video. After the presentations, time was provided for questions and
>>answers.
>>
>>When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam and asked:
>>"Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that most Imams and
>>clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the
>>infidels of the world. And, that by killing an infidel, which is a command
>>to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case,
>>can you give me the definition of an infidel?"
>>There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he
>>replied, "Non-believers!"
>>I responded, "So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of
>>Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so
>>they can go to Heaven... Is that correct?"
>>
>>The ___expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to
>>that of a little boy who had just gotten caught with his hand in the
>>cookie jar. He sheepishly replied, "Yes."
>>
>>I then stated, "Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine Pope
>>Benedict XVI commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr.
>>Stanley ordering Protestants to do the same in order to go to Heaven!" The
>>Imam was speechless
>>
>>I continued, "I also have problem with being your friend when you and your
>>brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me. Let me ask you a
>>question. Would you rather have your Allah who tells you to kill me in
>>order to go to Heaven or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am
>>going to Heaven and He wants you to be with me?"
>>
>>You could have heard a pin drop as the Imam hung his head in shame.
>>
>>Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the 'Diversification'
>>training seminar were not happy with Rick's way of dealing with the
>>Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslim's beliefs.

Idiot. People do not even know what the meaning of an infidel is.

An infidel, according to the Quran, is someone who completely lacks faith. A christian is not an infidel. A jew is not an infidel. A buddhist is not an infidel.

Get your facts straight people.

So, who is someone who lacks faith completely? And how do we know em when we see em?

Actually.. infidel according to te dictionary is:

1. An unbeliever with respect to a particular religion, especially Christianity or Islam.
2. One who has no religious beliefs.
3. One who doubts or rejects a particular doctrine, system, or principle.

So, a Christian, Buddist or Catholic is considered an infidel by definitions 1 and 3 in regards to Islam.

As far as aethist, that's a true rarity in the world. Even one who doesn't beleive in "religion" as a social group or accepts any particular "doctrine" or idealology doesn't make that person an aethist.

Take a scientist who has no particular beliefs of religion that YOU consider religion. Only his faith in science. Science is a particular faith as well. Where as the defining laws in the Universe aren't laid out by a god but by a systematic set of rules of discovery. Those rules are what is coveted. In reality, there is almost no true aethist on this planet. Just because someone doesn't want to make their beliefs a social event with others doesn't make them aethist.

That's the dictionary. There are lots of flawed definitions in the dictionary.

You can't really compare the dictionary definition to the actual holy books, Bible, Quran, etc.

No offense, but that is an idiotic explanation that displays ignorance of what science actually is.

Science is not a "faith", no rules are "coveted", and there is nothing that needs "belief". Science is something that one does, rather than something that merely "is".

In a nutshell, science is:

Some event is observed.
A hypothesis is made to explain the event.
Experimentation is devised and performed in order to test the hypothesis.
If the hypothesis stands up under testing and experimentation, it gains validity and becomes a theory.
If further evidence is found that appears to contradict the theory, then the theory is subject to either modification, or rejection in favor of a new theory if one is found.

Science can be done on a very small scale, on up to a very large scale.

Islamic Imam and exposing the truth about the Muslim's beliefs eh?

Text

The man who gave the presentation about Islam was not a Muslim minister; he was an inmate pressed into service to present a short film on Islam and answer some questions when the prison's Volunteer Coordinator was "unable to find an Imam to speak."

Allah commanded to kill everyone who is not of the same faith? And jihad isn't something you can declare against the 'infidels' of the world.

An Imam should've been able to answer those questions clearly. And the whole 'Allah or Jesus' thing doesn't make much sense since Muslims treat Jesus as a well respected person and a prophet.

Ok.

So I can assume that Jill Carroll, the US journalist currently held hostage in Iraq, and who will likely be murdered sometime after Feb 26th, is wearing a hijab because of her great respect for the principles of the Islamic faith, and not because her captors forced it on her..?

Those people are going against the Quran, and Islam. It does not say it is ok to do this.

Just because there are groups of nutjobs doesn't mean its ok to assume that all muslims are the same.
