The creation of Caesar's Salad has been attributed to an Italian, Caesar Cardini, who at the time was a restaurateur in Tijuana, Mexico. According to records, supplies in the Cardini establishment ran short one holiday weekend in 1924. Caesar experimented and that evening the Caesar's Salad was born. "Take everything to the table" he said, "and make a ceremony of fixing the salad". Let guests think they're having the specialty of the house". Later, it was voted " the greatest recipe to originate from the Americas in fifty years" by the International Society of Epicures in Paris*.

Caesar dressing comes from Caesar salad, a popular item on many restaurant menus. You will hear two different stories about the origin of the name for Caesar salad. One story is that it was named for Julius Caesar. Another story is that Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant to the United States, developed the salad dressing in the 1920s for his restaurant in Tijuana, Mexico. Caesar salad dressing is made of oil, lemon juice, raw egg, parmesan cheese, herbs and spices. Some recipes contain anchovy filets, too.

At my dorm 2nd year in college we had a religious fanatic head resident who was a total bitch to the people in the dorm. One kid took a sharpie and wrote on her door: "Jesus may love you but everyone else thinks your a b!tch" Needless to say, that head resident didn't have a very good year.
