For someone who's such a big fan of tolerance you're not very tolerant of my beliefs. Yes, I do believe it is a sin to use the name of the L-rd (any of them) in vain (i.e. in association with anything worldly). I, like many Christians and Jews, omit the vowels from the names of the L-rd so as not to associate His holy name with anything unholy. As far as the whole "kicking out the towel-heads" thing goes, I am a student at my school - not a staff member. I had no say in the matter and came here long after they made that decision. Also, I doubt there are many here who would disagree with this move. After all, it wasn't the Amish or the Puerto Ricans that hijacked planes and crashed them into buildings on 9/11 - it was a group of Muslim extremists. Oh, and just for the record - my school (the flight campus anyway) has more Asian students than American students because of a huge contract with the Chinese government.

Ok, I really am going to sleep now. Tired is no way to fly.

God thinks you're an asshole too btw.

Thanks for the comment! I'll file them away in my "ignore" drawer. Oh, He loves you, BTW :)

I'm gonna have to agree with Skyclad here... THE LORD JESUS is definitely gonna send you to hell. It's already been determined, no going back. Enjoy the trip!

Be careful about your criticism. It?s in the Bible, Romans 14:1, TLB. "Give a warm welcome to any brother who wants to join you, even though his faith is weak. Don?t criticize him for having different ideas from yours about what is right and wrong."

Those who give it--get it. It?s in the Bible, Luke 6:37-38, TLB. "Never criticize or condemn--or it will all come back on you. Go easy on others; then they will do the same for you. For if you give, you will get!"

Christians will wisely learn from valid constructive criticism. It?s in the Bible, Proverbs 9:8-9, TLB. "If you rebuke a mocker, you will only get a smart retort; yes, he will snarl at you. So don?t bother with him; he will only hate you for trying to help him. But a wise man, when rebuked, will love you all the more. Teach a wise man, and he will be wiser; teach a good man, and he will learn more."

hahaha. but im pissed b/c of ur beloved patriot comment dude. it's sad but many sikhs cut their hair (which goes against the sikh religion) just to avoid this kind of discrimination (this was the reason my mother cut my hair when i was young).
Hey Mazi, I can understand that feeling. There are some Sikh cab drivers here in Berkeley / Emeryville who are really nice people. The last time one of the older drivers picked me up at BART on my way home from SFO, I asked how it was for him being in traditional dress.
He was very gracious in his choice of words to describe the sh1t he was catching from some of "the brothers" in Oakland near the BART station.
Nothing I could say but "That's not right." And feel a little sad at how intolerant people really are.

BTW, My GOD loves it when I call his name, HE knows who I'm talking to and he appreciates the publicity.

P.S. God doesn't exist, but is only a way for stupid people like you to have a reason for doing dumb things. Just cause you're too afraid of the real world you need to believe in an afterlife and crap like that.

Just cause you're ignorant doesn't mean you should bother us with your crap, try reading information on the history of the Torah and Bible first. Or try actually reading those books in the first place, if you still think they contain the truth you apparently didn't do that either.

I am not offended by reli-freaks like you, just irritated. The only offensive thing about you is the 'beloved patriot' remark, but that just shows more ignorance and stupidity on your part.

Edit: argh!!! Foiled by weather! I hate weather cancellations :(

Seeing as how G-d doesn't hate anyone, your comment is invalid. "Stupid" people like me who have an I.Q. of 170 huh? Yeah, I sure am an idiot... Sorry for the beloved patriot remark, it was not meant to offend or incite. I definitely could have phrased that more delicately but as I explained in a previous post, I was associating the anger with 9/11 with Muslims as a whole rather than their extremist brethren. I guess I'm not allowed to make a mistake, whereas everyone else gets a free pass wheenver they want. Sorry for being human. I don't hate Muslims, I don't hate anyone. You on the other hand with your relentless attacks...
"try reading those books in the first place ... apparently didn't do that either" Ok, I'll bite - what makes you say this? With the limited knowledge you have of me and my beliefs from what you've read in this thread, how are you able to accurately come to that conclusion?

I hate to burst your bubble, but you don't have an I.Q. of 170. I can tell that much after reading some of your past posts. Your ability to write down your thoughts in a coherent manner is not on the level of someone with a 170 I.Q.

Also, I.Q. is only a valid measure of certain types of intelligence. Even if you had an I.Q. of 170, just based off your 'beloved patriot' comment and your condescending attitute towards others, it is readily apparent that what you supposedly have in intelligence you lack in wisdom.

I have to agree, if you had an IQ of 170 you would be talking well above what the normal person here could understand and making far better arguements.

Actually, intelligence is often defined as "the ability to relate complex ideas in everyday speech." I learned long ago that speaking above peoples' heads doesn't really get you anywhere.
And for the rest of you: there's no way I'm going to sit here and respond to everything that was posted in the time I was gone. I don't need to defend my actions or my beliefs to anyone. Stating something as fact does not make it so. I've already apologized for the "towelheads" comment and admitted fault. If you can't accept my apology and move on then that's your issue to deal with.

I didn't read this whole thread, but Michael, the solution isn't really too hard. Tell him that you've always respected his beliefs (let him take that however he wants to) but such a display really makes you uncomfortable and makes you more skeptical of them. If he thinks he's got any change in the world of converting you, there's a good chance he'll stop the behavior he thinks is distancing you.

I'm Christian and I do find the singing at the table rather odd; it does violate general social taboos and not really in a good way.

You can say "Yeshua" but you can't say God? Isn't Yeshua just another word for God?

Anyway, my boss did not sing at breakfast today. I am very pleased about this. There was Formula I racing on TV; instead he choose to comment about how crazy you have to be to drive 200+ MPH. I happily let him rant about this. I was waiting for him to steer the conversation towards: "You know, if those drivers crashed and died, Jesus would not approve of their hasty and rash actions" or some crap like that. But he didn't. I ate in peace.

Yep. It was much more out of force (my parents) than personal desire. When you force people to do ANYTHING, all it succeeds in doing is driving them FROM the thing you were forcing them to do. At first, I rebeled b/c of the force part, then as I got older and able to think for myself, I realized what a hypocritical crock of sh1t the entire Catholic relgious system is. :| I felt wronged, cheated and boy was I pissed off. 20 years later, not much has changed. ;)

One other thing; the Jesus freaks...er Christians do not classify themselves as "religious." They say "religion" is a term made up by man. I do not follow any man. I follow Christ, therefore I'm a Christian. Whatever.

But I don't begrudge anyone their beliefs/idolizations/etc.

You don't huh? It sure sounds like you do now! You shouldn't take out what you believe (now) on people who believe/have faith in Christ. You had a really bad experience being forced to go to church and having "religion" shoved down your throat and that's not the way that it was intended to be. ...people have to make up their own minds ... ... not have parents make up their minds for them.

Being a Christian entails much more than believing ...it's a relationship, having faith. That's why calling the relationship a "religion" doesn't fly. Religion contains "A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader." and that's the thing that most religions focus on ... ... and that's why most churches don't adopt the word "religion." And also, I don't believe on having no bible in your hand while you are learning from a pastor/preacher/priest/etc. You should have a bible in your hand and make up your mind for yourself. God sent teachers to teach, but not to make up our minds for us... ...and that's what most "religions" do.. e.g. Catholicism, mormonism, jehovah's witnesses, etc. They usually only teach 'parts' of the bible that they find that suites their "religion." Christians (followers of God, people who have faith and don't just believe in God, born again, etc) ... we make up our own minds. We go to church and listen to a teaching authority, yes, but we have our bibles in hand and we make up our own minds according to what truth is in the bible.

Anyways, I hope that you resolve your issues with your boss. I personally think that it's great that he glorifies God in his life, daily. That's awesome. And no, he's not brainwashed -- he's thankful for the change(s) that God has made in his life and the sacrifice that God made for him to make him clean and worthy to glorify God. You know, have you ever considered yourself brainwashed? Brainwashed by this world? Brainwashed by science? I bet that you haven't ... ... but, you should take a second look at what you believe in, because, if you think that the universe (especially the earth with all of it's life forms) could result from a big bang theory and that we came from monkeys... ...then wow. I don't know about you, but I didn't come from no stinkin' monkey. ;)

G-d is the only one with the right to judge. You can sit there and tell me how wrong I am and what an idiot I am but in the end it doesn't really matter. Stating something as fact does not make it so. I've already apologized for the "towelheads" comment and admitted fault. If you can't accept my apology and move on then that's your issue to deal with.
Yeshua loves me and that's all I really need in life - not acceptance on some 1337 intarnet forum. I'm not perfect and I've never claimed to be.

Yeshua is not one of G-d's names, it is the true name of "Jesus." In the original text of the Bible (Hebrew) the angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her "you will name your son Salvation for he will save his people." The word salvation in Hebrew is Yeshua. This was transliterated into Greek as Iesous, and eventually into English as Jesus. The true name of the savior is Yeshua Mashiach "Salvation the Messiah."

GTG 2 school now, be back sometime tonight.

Thanks for the comment! I'll file it away in my "ignore" drawer. Oh, He loves you, BTW :)

And he hates people who can't just hit the submit button once, but do it multiple times instead.

Buddha kicked God's a*s years ago, where were you?

I'm not talking about "the ability to relate complex ideas in everyday speech". I am talking about the way you relate your "complex ideas" in regard to sentence and paragraph structure (or a lack thereof). You don't have a 170 IQ, and you're not fooling anyone.

You're a little twit who is more than likely still in or just out of high school. Hell, you don't even have a good understanding of the religion you are so rabidly protecting.
