My boss is one of the Born Again people...or as he likes to say "SAVED." He says he can't be "born again" b/c Jesus only lets you be born once. WTF ever.

My boss "got saved" about 18 years ago...he used to be "a sinner" as he so loves to say it.
rolleye.gif
but he pretty much has stopped trying to save me, etc b/c I told him that it offends me. I was being very nice about it.

When you ask him how he's doing today/tonight he always says "I'm blessed." What the fvck ever, man; I've gotten used to it. But now he's gone too far...Jesus has brainwashed him.

We sat down to eat about an hour ago. Instead of quietly praying to himself (saying grace) like he always does, he started singing:

Thank you Jesus! For all you do! I'm so grateful you do what you do! Thank you Lord, for this food!

And a few other lines I don't remember. It was just he and I at our table. The whole room just stared. I wanted to die. At least he didn't start waving his hands in the air and shaking a tambourine or some sht like that.

I really don't want to eat with him anymore...but it's kind of habit...we usually do breakfast and lunch together...it sure doesn't hurt come Review time. ;)

But this is getting ridiculous. How do I stop this inappropriate behavior? Smack him? Electrocute him? Throw goat's blood on him? If you worship blown lightbulbs as your God, good for you; I'm happy for you. Just dont' let your belief infringe on my personal space, OK? :|

"I don't begrudge anyone their beliefs" "WTF ever" "what the fvck ever" "he's brainwashed" "how do I stop this inappropriate behavior?"

You know, it's funny - you make a disclaimer at the beginning of your post saying you accept others' beliefs yet throughout the rest of your post you make other statements which contradict this. If you truly are tolerant of his beliefs why would you be thinking of ways to stop his actions? If you really can't stand what he's doing, politely and sincerely ask him to stop, or you'll just have to avoid him. You don't want anyone trying to change you or your beliefs, what gives you the right to try to change his? Everyone's entitled to believe whatever they wish, that's the beauty of free will.
The above is not "religious preaching" - it's just common sense.

Tolerant of his beliefs as long as it's kept to himself. He doesn't judge his boss based on his religious beliefs. But, to be subjected to ridiculous behavior like that in public is going too far, imo.

Since when is being thankful for what one considers a blessing and giving praise for it ridiculous behavior?

Let's bring it further. Say you're in a big movie theater with this guy and just before the movie starts he stands up beside you and in the middle of the theater proclaims his love for God and how he loves you as his friend and other things of this nature. I think that would be "ridiculous behavior". Saying grace is not ridiculous, but singing it in a restaurant surely is. I know plenty of religious followers and none have ever done that in my presence :)

Its amazing, people can curse and swear anywhere and its ok. People can say almost anything and people run to say its free speech and quote the constitution. But the minute someone publicly acknowledges Christ all the seriously unregenerated and blind idiots start crying you can't do that.
rolleye.gif
If the Hugh Hefners, foul music artists, and the like can speak publicly and no one get all upset then the same should be for those who speak publicly of Christ. If you was embarrarassed get up and move, if you don't like hearing the thanks given, leave or change the channel. But this is America jack and free speech is for all.

When you make outbursts, in a public forum that is not a worship-scenario (i.e. a restaurant) this is ridiculous and inappropriate. If you can't see that, your as brainwashed as he is. And that's a fact, not an insult.

George Carlin said it best:

So now we have two commandments.

"Thou shall not kill unless somebody believes in something that you don't"

and "Thou shall be honest and faithful".

Moses could have put them in his pocket and read it off to the people and it
wouldn't have been so hypocritical to faith.

But lets add in one more commandment

"Keep thy religion to thyself."

Classy, the guy started SINGING.

I also happen to find wanton swearing and cursing in public particularly classless, for the record.

Hmmm.....if he needs to keep his comments to himself why don't you hypocrites do the same. If you can talk about him, why can't he talk about Jesus? Its amazing not once did this cry baby say he forced his religion on him. All he said was he gave thanks out loud. Besides anyway, the fact is and its a fact whenther you choose to believe or not, Jesus will be your judge and your jury when you die. And the funny thing is your sorrowful opinion will not mean a thing then. My suggestion to those who don't believe enjoy this life to its fullest, because ETERNITY waits. Its amazing the decisions you make in 80 or so years in this life if your lucky, will determine the rest of your ETERNITY folks. You know what I also always find funny. Is the complete and utter nonsense that your belief creates God. lol Like if I don't believe then he doesn't exist....hehehe. Its like saying if I don't believe in Twinkies they don't exist

Ok....so...a guy at a table next to you starts yelling "FVCK! SH!T P!SS!" and you won't be offended? Or maybe he breaks into song of some Eminem lyrics and you aren't offended or think it's ridiculous?

You are conveniently ignoring the facts. Firstly, anyone that bursts out singing about anything in public is considered a loon. Secondly, this was an eating establishment, not The First Secondary Church of John the Iconoclast Once Removed.

You just keep being a blind rat in a maze full of traps; see where it gets you in life.

I knew it!

Typical response...prove something DOESN'T exist for something you can't prove does!

What's the role of science? To prove why things happen or that things exist or to rule out possibilities.

God was created by man as a concept to answer the unknown. Why do you think we have the Greek/Roman Titans/Gods? Or Native American Gods/Spirits?

The creation of Gods/supernatural beings arose out of ignorance of how the world works (why the sun rises/falls, why does it rain, etc.) Where did we come from? Uhh...must be some omnipotent being that had nothing better to do after having sat all alone for billions of years.

Where I get in life is not only irrelevant to this conversation but unimportant to me. The only thing that truly matters to me is my faith in Yeshua and my adherance to the laws of G-d. Those who love G-d do not love life. Look it up in the New Testament.

Where it gets me in life? Hmmmm well obviuosly it must have gotten me to be a bit more stronger than you. You don't see me in here crying cause some guy wanted to praise God and sing. Come on now, did he hurt your feelings or something? People that post these threads are just big freaking babies that need bottles and diapers. Give me a break, grow up.

Pascal once had a two-by-two matrix.

......................................God exists........................God does not exist
Wager for God...............Gain all.............................Status quo
Wager against God.......Misery................................Status quo
