Jesus freaking christ! I can't believe what just happened!

My friend was leaving to go home and when we went outside we saw a bunch of flashing lights and people with flashlights. Also there was some cop cars and wreckers right in the middle of the road. We figured it was a wreck but we could not really tell. We kept looking and it seemed that the house across the road was a little closer than normal. We it wasn't the house across the road. Some people were moving a gigantic house(not a trailer or a manufactured house but a REAL freaking house) and it was too wide and tall for the road. It ran into a bunch of trees and telephone polls and was stuck. This behemoth was taking up both sides of the road and went up as far as the top half of the telephone poles. Obviously it knocked some trees over and damaged a bunch of poles. They finally got it moved but it kept tearing the branches out of trees and running into telephone poles.

We drove up to the top of my neighborhood(the main road that passes by my house was the road it was on and not my subdivision road) it was strange seeing a massive house in the middle of the road with all these branches poking into it.

Wow.

It is pitch dark considering all the power on that road is out and I cannot find my digicam anyways. It moved on before I made a post too. Sorry. 🙁

You see, that's what I was wondering. There is the benefit of less traffic at night, but then there is the whole thing with lighting.

I could only imagine if they had been rooting their asses around down here or if it had feel down the slope because it would have nailed my house.

Edit- Road is heavily traveled.

My guess is they were moving it at night to get around heavy traffic as well as skirting a few license and zoning laws.

Your neighbors are idiots. That's all I have to say.

It wasn't actually my neighbors... it was who ever decided to move the house because it was coming from way on down the road. We could see all the crap it ran into.

Are there rednecks living in your town? This sounds like something a redneck would try to do. "Kiiiids! Git in the truck! Were goin' ta move the house!"

I think the FBI is investigating them. Maybe I should call them and ask. 😉

heheheh...

that's a crazy story btw....freakin, do they have to pay for all that damage...aha wtf..freakin idiots..

pics?

Yeah, especially since it is a coporation that caused the damage. They probably have insurance for stuff like that though.

Yep they have insurance. I worked a summer in construction (same situation). If we accidentally drove our dump truck over a septic system or cut a corner too tight coming around a house and took off a bit of the roof we got docked bonuses for that year but the insurance footed the bill. God bless insurance!\\

Edit: For the record no questionable incident that summer was my fault in any way.
