Its a job like anything else. I knew crew and actors that worked in the soap game and they turn it on and turn it off like any salesman.


Remember. Most of those people would be waiting tables otherwise. They cherish each and every check and have at least a month off a year.

Dont feel sorry for them lol

almost 10k episodes... That's crazy.
But well, they're short and you have a stable job.
It's for sure more interesting than a repetitive factory job, or something physically more straining such being a cleaning lady or a cashier.
Also no long term health consequences if you can keep yourself together.
Soap opera actors probably don't focus themselves so much that they become that person, they just fake it and have their own life.

Shorty, as a crane operator, I often did the exact same thing over and over and over...for days or weeks running.
Pick something up here...swing over there...set it down...swing back to original position...

It got boring as hell, but at $30-$40/hr with tons of overtime, it paid the bills.
