Jessica Simpson upset about missing Iraq Footage

JESSICA SIMPSON wants to know where missing footage of her and husband NICK LACHEY's harrowing trip to Iraq got to - because she thinks Americans would like to see just how bad conditions are there.

The pop singers-turned-reality TV couple travelled to the war-torn nation to visit US troops as part of a recent ABC TV variety special, and they were both left shellshocked by what they saw.

But all the controversial moments and harrowing footage of the trip didn't appear in the fun-filled TV show.

Simpson says, "It was unbelievable. They didn't show a lot of what really went on with the enemy attacks and the shelling. There was so much stuff that went on and somehow the tapes got mysteriously misplaced.

"It put everything in perspective for me. It really did teach me the definition of sacrifice. I can't even fathom being out there right now. I was ready to come home."

I'm actually kind of impressed, i always thought she was just another dimwitted bush lover (from what i've read) in the brittney spears mold.

At least she's honest about how it's going in Iraq.

Meh, she seems pretty damned stupid... Maybe those tapes will turn up sometime and I might just be proven wrong.

I don't think a TV special about Mr and Mrs Jessica Simpson in Iraq is the proper place to show all that kind of stuff. That's the the media (in theory) is for.

Ok, so let me see if I've got this...

The near constant stream of revealing coverage on the conditions in Iraq from every network, magazine, and newspaper for the past 2+ years has not been enough to give Americans an idea of "how bad conditions are there", but the public will instantly gain a new perspective at the sight of Jessica Simpson diving for cover after mistaking a Marine's burly fart for machine gun fire?

Can you say "inflated views of one's self importance"? I knew you could.

While I'm not sure about her being a Bush lover, you're right in that she IS dimwitted, and right out of the Britney mold. She could not possibly have anything of interest to say to anyone who has an IQ over about 105.

GREAT! The people with the below 105 IQs (almost certainly Bush voters) are the ones who need the re-education about how things are really going over there

Though she's no authortative source on current events, I think famous figures can do a lot in our country to spread information effectively. Face it... much of America is totally addicted to TV, movies, and pop music. If their idols start to say "turn around! life is happening behind you!", they might just do it.

Maybe the average American doesn't watch the news but they watch entertainment.
