Ripped from the ever-lovin' Drudge Report:

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX WED JAN 17, 2001 22:00:12 ET XXXXX

NATIONAL ENQUIRER BOMBSHELL: JESSE JACKSON LOVE CHILD; MISTRESS PAID IN CASH

Spiritual adviser to President Clinton Reverend Jesse Jackson took his pregnant mistress to an Oval Office meeting at the height of the Lewinsky Impeachment saga, a stunning new report claims.

Washington will soon be jolted and storm clouds will form over Inauguration Weekend after a NATIONAL ENQUIRER expose alleges Jesse Jackson fathered a daughter conceived out
of wedlock by a part-time RAINBOW COALITION staffer who was given $40,000 to relocate to Los Angeles where she now lives in $365,000 multi-bedroom spread and receives a $10,000
a month stipend from Jackson, it is alleged.

The NEW YORK POST is rushing to splash the story in fresh editions, according to newspaper sources.

"JESSE JACKSON'S LOVE CHILD" -- the ENQUIRER is planning to blare in its Page One splash of its January 30 edition.

"A $40,000 moving expense is outragous," one RAINBOW COALITION source tells the ENQUIRER.

The ENQUIRER names the mother, aged 39.

It does not name the young miss, aged 2.

A photo of the girl is featured with a blue dot over her face shielding her identity.

Clinton administration officials were bracing for yet another photograph, obtained by the ENQUIRER, which pictures Jesse Jackson, the pregnant mistress, President Bill
Clinton, and RAINBOW COALITION executives smiling in the Oval Office.

The picture was taken on December 3, 1998 -- at the height of the Clinton sex scandal.

"Here was Rev. Jackson counseling Bill Clinton on his infidelity and Jackson's pregant mistress was smiling along?" asked a publishing source.

Jackson urged Clinton to take a contrite tone in his public explanation of the Lewinsky affair:

"Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut. And don't panic."

"If you respond with a contrite heart," Jackson told Clinton, "that obligates the public to respond with mercy."

The ENQUIRER quotes extensively from RAINBOW COALITION insiders and the mistress. Jesse Jackson's wife is said to be devastated by the alleged long-term affair.

Jackson had been prepared earlier this week to preempt this story with an appearance on BLACK ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. Jackson later pulled out
of the appearance when it became unclear if the ENQUIRER was going forward.

Which they will.

Which they are.

Which you now know.

I would call him a hypocrite but everyone knows he's a Democrat and those two terms are interchangeable.

Jackson, in a statement, announces he is leaving public life until further notice... 'I love my daughter very much... God, Please forgive me,' Jackson said...

Could it be? Will this be enough to get this bigot out of the public spot light?

Definitely for real. The verdict seems to be that liberal males must just exert some kinda irresistible magic over the ladies. It's probably how half of us were born, all of us if you go back a couple of generations.

Mr. Jackson, since you have asked God to forgive you, he has. For me, this matter is closed.

However, if you insist on promoting your godless agenda, I will consider your views fair game.

This is true, but old news. 3 years ago it was speculated that him and his wife were getting a divorce. Many people speculated many different things and this being one of them. So that would explain the child being 2 years old. As a matter of fact it will probably come out that he was leaving his wife to be with this woman. I can't say I agree with him for to leave a wife of the many years he has had with this woman is wrong. But he stayed with her. If he wanted to be with this other lady he should have just left and dealt with it upfront.

Hmmm... lets see.... a "reverend" having an affair outside of wedlock, and having a child with a staffer. This is the same guy that's the 'spiritual advisor' to Clinton and his administration? That explains a few things ;)

Scum, I tell ya, Jesse, Bill, the whole lot of'em.

Well I guess I am scum also. I wasn't married but I fathered a child out of wedlock. I had her before I met my wife. It happens.

No classy, the point is that Jesse is supposed to represent the "moral and ethical" side of the Democratic party. The fact that he's a "minister" only compounds the whole mess BUT the real screwup is the coverup he attempted on the entire affair... only until it became public did he step forward and claim responsibility. Listen, eveyone makes mistakes, but this is just ridiculous.

classy, what you did wasn't nearly as bad as adultery, and millions of people don't look to you as an exmample of moral/ethical living either. What about all the faith and trust that he's flushed away, and the embarassment to his wife and family?

But... *Thorn does an uncharacteristic change of direction*

Dispite my dislike for Jackson, there's no reason for me to kick him anymore on this issue. He says he's made his peace with God about it and that's what's truly important. Hopefully this will be a good example to all of his followers (and Americans in general) that living immorally/irresponsibly will catch up with you. At least the staffer didn't abort the child and Jesse does seem to care about it's well being. Maybe this will serve as a good example too.

ABC News story on this.

Isn't it funny how everyone goes, "You can't believe anything on Drudge's site." when he's been correct so many times? People scoffed over Monica and the blue dress, when both existed.

That's not to say that he hasn't made misakes. I'm just saying that you can't automatically discount stories there, esp. when they're mostly links to other news sites. (BA: I just posted this, I didn't comment or say anything about it one way or another.)

Also, much as I think Jesse is a destructive and divisive force in the nation's discourse, I give him credit for not responding to this affair (no pun intended) with lies, stonewalling, sending others out to lie for him or blaming the incident on a "massive right-wing conspiracy" or some other racists strawman. He's only sorry he got caught (who wouldn't be?), BUT he seems to be taking his lumps now and not trying to weasel out like Clinton did.

That said, I like this part:

I will be taking some time off to revive my spirit and reconnect with my family before I return to my public ministry.

Translation: Well, it looks like I won't be able to lead the anti-Dubya, racial-grievance riot this weekend without everyone laughing at me and and asking "where's the mistress?", so I'm just gonna stay home and get glared at by my family.

Thorn: Far be it from me to defend this race-hustler, but NO ONE in a public role would call a press conference to announce something like this. It'll be interesting to see if the media jumps on him like they did Dubya's quarter-century old DWI case.

What am I saying? Of course they won't!

Hysterically ironic to me especially the part about consoling Clinton during the Lewinsky scandal. Takes one to know one, I suppose. I have little sympathy for the man after his antics over the past twenty years.

Isn't it amazing how the different networks are handling his story? CNN barely mentions it, NBC makes Jackson out to be a victim, ABC claims its a personal matter. I think FOX News has had the best story on it so far, they are the only ones who brought up the money factor.. How is it a man who took a vow of poverty could pay a woman 40K to move to Cali. and then pay 10K a month to keep her quite.. Not to mention the $375,000 home she was bought..

You know how many people have had affairs? Man please. Boy I just love this board. :) Its so cozy and....................and..............the words seem to escape right now. Some of you boys just make me laugh. Jesse may have made a mistake, like Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Andrew Jackson. But guess what because of Jesse and other civil rights leaders I can sit here and talk to you all. Thank God for him. His work may be done now, but other civil rights leaders will emerge. Probably better than him. Trust me loud mouth black leaders will never ever cease to be heard. And thank God for that. Its amazing how I never see long threads discussing the failures of white people. I don't recall anyone talking about the judge here in Philadelphia who let two white boys 16 and 15 go home and get 4 months of couseling for raping a 11 year black girl at Vet stadium. But there was some serious finger pointing at the pro-criminal black judge as labeled by Ashcroft. It is clear what some of you really want. But unfortunately us minorities are here to stay.
