Jerry Jones wants new stadium by 2005, Jerry Jones say LA to have team by 2005

Looks like Jerry Jones is going to use LA as leverage to get his $750million deal done. The Cowboys wont leave DFW, but that wont stop Jones using LA for leverage.

Looks like some NFL team will be moving to LA in the next 3-5 years though. Its what the NFL wants.

As much as Red McCombs wants to move/sell the Vikings. I dont think the Vikings will be the team that moves to LA.

🙁 The sad thing is that the media trys to downplay that it wont happen, but I think it will 🙁

Got any links for that info? I want to send it to someone.

Well, I get a lot of it off of the AP wire, which you can't access.

Here's a little something. Play around on indystar.com and I'll bet you can find a lot of info.

Personally I hope that LA never gets another football team.

Hope the Colts go somewhere else. I wouldn't mind an expansion team..at least we can rebuild a whole new team instead of a crappy one.

1. The Colts aren't crappy. They aren't great, but you could get a lot worse.
2. There won't be any expansion teams for a while. Not only has the NFL said that, but we're at 32 right now, which is the perfect number.
3. How loyal are the LA fans going to be? Small town fans are the loyal ones. An NFL team is much, much more to Indianapolis than it is to LA. Just look at Green Bay.

Like I said, I hope you don't get a team. If they have to move, I hope they move to a town that really needs them.

I won't disagree with you thinking that LA fans are not loyal. A lot of them are flakes...I'll give you that. Small town fans are more loyal because there is nothing else to do. However, I'm pretty sure there is a big enough market in LA to support a team. If the Colts do move here...i hope they change the name, uniform, and everything else that is associated with being a "Colt." 😉

Jerry Jones comments about LA getting a team by 2005 was in an interview. He also said the NFL wont be expanding anytime soon. The whole using LA as leverage is just IMHO. Hes greedy, he wants a $750million development in Irving, a few miles away from where the current stadium is, near the canal.

Well, that's my point. You have the Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers, and Kings. At one point you also had the Rams and Raiders. LA is big, and I'm sure that football will be a fad for a while, but unless they're awsome, people will lose interest. Especially if Shaq stays with the Lakers.

The Colts also have fans all over Indiana. We're a Colts affiliate, and we're closer to the Bengals' territory. Cali already has 2 teams. Maybe they should move the Raiders back down there.

Ummm they have three. Chargers, 49'ers, and Raiders.

Personally I think Red McCombs original idea of moving the Vikings to San Antonio would be a good idea. But the NFL insists on a team in LA.

3 teams in Cali, 3 teams in NY, 3 teams in FL. Come on, Texas is the 2nd largest state land wise and population wise. If FL and NY can have 3 teams, so could TX. But that damn metrodome contract.

You know, every time I talk about CA football, I forget about the Chargers. Maybe I have some inner hatred of them 😱

Anyway, I don't think that FL really needs 3 teams. Jacksonville is not where I'd build a team. Maybe SLC or something. Not Jacksonville, anyway.

I think of it this way: Where could you put the teams so that every populated area has some one to root for. Now I realize that you can't put one in Montana or anything, but Florida, California, and New York do not need 3 teams.

We don't want the Colts.

Why not? Peyton Manning is one the best up and coming quarterbacks. Hes int he generation in between the old timers (Brett Favre) and the youngins (Joey Harrington). Colts have the potential to become a great team in the next few years. I don't like Tony Dungy though.

Does it really matter if LA fans are "fickle"? All that matters is the $$$. And LA is a HUGE potential market w/ Holywood and the desire for superstars. I would love an NFL team here.

The Colts had a fine home until they snuck out of it in the middle of the night in Mayflower moving vans. As far as I am concerned they should have removed the name and kept it for whatever team ended up playing in Baltimore much the same as they did with the Browns name for Cleveland. I can only hope there is a special Irsay room in hell.

He should come to San Antonio. Everytime the Spurs sneeze, somebody builds them a $500 million dollar arena.

They just played their first game at the new SBC (Southern Bell Communications) not too long ago. Go Spurs GO!!!!!! To another city , please...go.....
