Now THAT was a fight. No dancing, little clinching, no running away. Just two guys looking to inflict serious harm on one another and throwing everything they had. Best fight I've seen in a while.

DAMN!

I've been a UFC juniie because boxing just hans't been thes ame the past few years. This fight was awesome!

Pavlik has a heart of gold and the will of a rhino! What a force! What a knockout! Taylor was out cold in that corner with no idea what was going on.

Congrats to Kelly and his hometown of Youngstown!

Can't wait for the rematch!

I had Kelly up in my mind and wassuprised to hear the Judges had Taylor up by 3-4 points.

Great fight! I think the announcers were skewing the viewing audience's perception, though. Yeah, Pavlik was being more aggressive, but Taylor was landing more when he counter-punched. I had Taylor winning, too. But Pavlik has some heart.

It was surprising because every time up until the KO, Taylor would get pushed into the corner and come out landing more clean shots than Pavlik. The punches that put him in the corner on the KO didn't look that hard (but Pavlik's deceptive like that), but those uppercuts jacked Taylor up!

Really good fight!

Edit: Also, where's the OP? ;)

Wow, after the De la Hoya / Mayweather fight I swore off boxing for a while, but this one might change my mind for a bit.

Pavlik by TKO in 8.

If it goes to a decision, this is boxing, so Taylor, regardless the circumstances, probably split decisions, with Glenn Trowbridge giving him a shutout.

Glenn Trowbridge - he's not always right, but he's always certain.

Awesome Prediction

There's a reason I wager on boxing. Free tip - take Sultan Ibragimov to beat Evander Holyfield by massacre.

Well, I just got back from a party where we watched the fight. The undercard was surprisingly good, definitely a good way to start the night. Jermain Taylor beat Pavlik's ass in the 2nd round and he could've capitalized more on the situation. But Pavlik ended up standing in punch for punch and delivered some good blows. While I'm disappointed at the outcome, that was easily the best fight I've seen in a while.

Final Stoppage

I wonder how long before HBO makes them take those down?

btw-they're replaying the fight tuesday night.
