actually this question is not for me, it's for someone..umm I don't know ;)
I just want to help him out..
This is what he wrote..

and i quote
"
Hi, I hope somebody will be able to help me...
To start with, the PC specs
AMD k6-2 500 on FIC VA-503A with 128+64meg sdram (pc100)
geforce 2 mx 200 32meg sdram tv out (VGA brand)
SBLive 5.1 player
dvd x10 afreey (udma33)
HD seagate 20g udma100@66)
elsa winmodem pci.
And now the problem:
When I watch DVDs on the tvscreen, even if the picture is very very good, it is quite jittery all the way through the film (when it's almost smooth and fluid on the monitor?)
I use powerdvd (3)

Any tip ? (hard or soft)
I'm running win 98 (non SE) btw

I might try Linux (my next step towards freedom; Suse 7.1).
Regarding the hardware side, I didn't know that winmodems slow down your PC when not in use - I'm planning on buying a hardware one (serial or USB, tell me (keep Linux in mind)). I forgot to mention as well that on the 2nd IDE port, I have the DVD player (master udma33) and a Iomega x4, x2, x24 or 32 burner (pio4). Do you think it could be a part of the pb ?
And would it be possible to copy the dvd on the hd and watch it from there ?
