Jericho worth $7.99?

I played the demo and though "meh..." but everytime i'm in target I see it sitting discounted to smoething like $7.69. Is it worth picking up?

A lot of people seemed to have disliked it but i thought it was worth 8 bucks from the demo.

If they had a coop mode it would be awesome 🙂

no anytime save, you need Crossfire or a GTX to run it Maxed out, kinda buggy ...

but a nice tech demo for $8 ... i got mine a month ago at CC for the same price .. haven't played it very much - too busy now 😛

It's worth that but sadly not much more.

As many reviews state, it could have been a great game... I enjoyed the storytelling and all that... But the actual gameplay was horrible, and to make matters even worse I ended up playing through a few parts 5-10 times because it uses... CHECKPOINTS 😱.

GameTap has it for $10/month, you could try a month and also play Overlord, Sam & Max, etc.

Of course that's virtual renting, so if you like it you have to keep paying to play.

Just about every review I've read for the game said it sucked. From what I played of the demo, it felt very generic and very much like "filler" material. I guess for less than $10, you can buy it while waiting for something else.

I'm playing this now, am about 3/4 through, and I can't figure out why this game is so hated. I've read the negative reviews and just don't agree.

The graphics are very dark, but richly detailed and everything is glistening blood. It runs perfectly smooth on my 8800gt at 1680x1050. I've had no crashes, and only a bug or two fixed with a checkpoint restart.

The checkpoint system has worked great for me except once or twice. I prefer it this way over the F5 quicksave as that destroys all challenge in an FPS for me. I guess it's nice to have the option if the game is impossible, but I find the distance between autosaves very well done.

There is a lot of variety. You've got 6 characters, each with at least 2 weapons, each of which is customizable, and each with 1 or 2 psychic powers. The glaring weakness of the game is in the lack of variety in enemies. They really needed to make a few more than the 3 or 4 footsoldiers you fight. But the ones in it are fast and angry.

The story is pretty good, better than most FPS anyway. The control is a bit loose, but I lowered the DPI on my mouse (G7) and that fixed it up.

The real test for any game is whether or not it is fun, and I'm having fun with it. Definitely worth the bargain bin price, and underrated IMO. 7/10.

That's generally how I felt, but I put it a different way. What kept me from hating the game was the story; the gameplay was the same thing over and over and over, and really took away from the rest of the game.

Apparently it sucks.

well, technically, everything sucks to Yahtzee...my hero!
Well, he loved Psychonaughts and liked one or two others. So he's not one of those guys who hates EVERYTHING, just most things.

Back on topic: I didnt like the demo too much, but for 8 bucks I'd probably give it a whirl. Am amazed this game is in the dirt cheap bargain bin already. Despite the fact it sucks I thought it was selling fairly well.

(EDIT: I like when he calls the girls whores. Looking at the models, it seems this might really just be a 3D porno demo. What kind of slut goes into a combat zone with 9/10 of her tit exposed?)

Jericho is worth the price of a gallon of gas - just for the visuals

"warrior magicians"?
😕

Haven't you noticed that the more Powerful the Female Magician of the species is - the smaller her 'G-string of Power' turns out to be? .. i kinda like the way that part of evolution turned out .. and it also appears that gigantic silicone breasts convey special weirding-abilities of their own against the demonic [and human] Forces that appear to be male

i pay particular attention to the "details" 😛

I agree with most of your sentiments and I'd like to add the game?s combat has fantastic visceral feel to it. I too like the characters, the environments and the story.

I paid full price for it and I'd give it 8.5/10; in fact I enjoyed it more than Call of Duty 4.

MY kind of slut. 😛

He liked COD4, and almost orgasm'ed over Orange Box.

So no he doesn't hate all games. He just hates bad games. This confuses people because he hates bad games that spend a million dollars on advertising which all the game mags seem to love for some mysterious reason mankind may never know.

I haven't played it, but it has done some good for me anyway.
"A spunk flavoured lollipop" officially made it to my Top 10 Expressions list when I checked Yahtzee's review 🙂
