I'm not exactly thrilled with the series so far. It seems like they intend to drag everything out forever while giving only a few answers here and there. If I wanted that I would watch Lost.

At the same time, some of the stuff makes no sense whatsoever. An example would be the scene where the town confronts the mercenaries. They claim they did not attack them because they were outgunned, yet that was complete and utter BS.

Hunting rifles /= machine guns

Show is good and keeps me watching. It reminds me a lot of my childhood in the early 80's when we lived in fear that USSR was going to nuke us. As a result lots of movies like Red Dawn and the The Day After exist. This show parallels those lines of doom so I find it enjoyable!

Actually, not true at all.

First, Hawkins would have taken a couple out 1, probably 2 before the shooting actually started. It was a fairly even matchup. Sure, at least 2-3 of the townspeople would have died, but the mercs would have all died. Hawkins would KNOW this.

Iono, I think at least 5-6 of the townspeople would have died. I don't remember, but did the mercs have any grenades on their belts?

Aside from that, its kinda similar to the vietnam war I think. The mercs didn't attack because they didn't want to die, obviously, but the townspeople weren't willing to pay the price of a few deaths. Not outgunned in the literal sense but outgunned past the point they were willing to play.

EDIT: I'm not sure I'm caught up in the series. The last thing I remember was when someone was shot next to a burning garbage can. Is that the last episode?

It sounds like they're running out of ideas already, so they're already doing flashbacks on the characters like LOST. Not good.

Anyone else find it stupid that it's been months since the US originally got attacked in that show, yet no one in Jericho seems to know who the attackers were yet?

Well... Maybe Hawkins knows, but he's not going to tell anyone :)

Has it really meen months? I thought it seemed more like a couple of weeks. That, and if you don't have a means of communication and nobody leaves town/comes to town, how are they going to get info if all they can see are some chinese news stations.

their winter break was ridiculous. that is why some are referring to this as the start of a second season.

Jericho was pretty bad with that, but a LOT of shows take a good six week break, have a couple of episodes, then have a 2-3 week break and the final episode.

Annoying as hell.

Holy crap! Hawkins IS a bad guy after all!

Or, maybe he's a secret double agent or something. I'm confused :)

I think it's a great show. Remember it's basically been barely two months since the bombs went off, and they're an isolated city...why WOULD they know who did it?

I WILL say however that the man playing the mayor/former-mayor is one of the worst actors I have ever seen put on film before. Seriously he's that old and no one noticed earlier that he can't act?

I vote bad guy who had second thoughts. But, I think he is ex military (photographs with air force personnel have been spotted, iirc). Maybe this was all to set the stage for a military coup.

Well, to be fair, LOST was pretty flashback centric to begin with. How else were they going to link all the characters (which is still irking me to hell how any of that has to do with anything in the show)

I've liked Jericho enough to keep watching. Not Heroes spectacular, but I find the whole impending doom theme interesting. 1x12 was a decent episode, but hopefully the rest of the season will play out and explain some things

Ya, seems that way to me too.

This episode filled in a lot of back story and seemed pretty decent. The show so far isn't as intriguing as Lost, but at least it has not introduced a bunch of questions that never seem to get answered.

Lost is at risk of ending up like Duke Nukem Forever: A self-fulfilling prophecy meant to be a name
