jeopardy questions....totally random?

so the players who go on jeopardy...do they get a big book of study guide to study from, because the quesetions are really totally random......it's really crazy....
 
there's a good one called "The Princeton Review's Guide to Jeopardy." I used it last year when I was preparing.

Most of the questions on Jeopardy aren't very hard at all. If you want harder questions go take a look at Win Ben Stein's money, and even they are easy compared to real challenging quiz bowl questions. The trick is just to know a sh!t load of simple trivia on American presidents, states, capitals, pop culture etc.. If you ever see a category come up that you are familiar with you will know what I'm talking about, most of the questions are actually very easy.
 
Yeah, and the Jeopardy questions are often times worded so that you can figure it out even if you don't know the real answer. They use hint words and other things to give away what they are looking for.

They don't receive categories ahead of time. Sure, there's plenty that are difficult, but for the most part, the hardest part about competing is buzzing in first. Most of the people on there can think of the answer in time. Ken Jennings was a master at buzzing in first and then taking his time to think of the answer.
