Jeopardy Blooper

That's the furthest thing from funny.

It also isn't a blooper. Since it was part of the actual show, not an out take.

Please fix this thread, it is broken.

he's correct... not that it really matters.

Why does a blooper have to be an outtake?

edit:

dictionary.com

bloop·er /'blup?r/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[bloo-per] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
?noun 1. Informal. an embarrassing mistake, as one spoken over the radio or TV.
2. Radio. a receiving set that generates from its antenna radio-frequency signals that interfere with other nearby receivers.
3. Also, bloop. Baseball. a. Also called looper. a fly ball that carries just beyond the infield.
b. a pitched ball with backspin, describing a high arc in flight.

Is the answer rake? When I was a senior in high school, my quiz bowl team had this question at the NC State Finals. We missed the question when we said ho. 🙂

The judges ruled it incorrect becuase the garden tool is a "HOE" and a nasty lady is a "HO" (shortened from "WHORE").

He talked about this when he was a guest on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" on NPR.

He could be right in that for him it isn't funny; on the other hand, I found it very funny (though I've seen it several times before). It's certainly worth seeing if you enjoy TV bloopers (not being an outtake doesn't disqualify it from being a blooper, though you could argue technically on the grounds of whether or not it was a "mistake"). The thread doesn't need fixing, and jerk-ness is still to be found because the complaint was useless and at least partially incorrect.

Did they ever go back and credit him the money because technically, his answer is correct.

No, his answer is not correct. Hoe is a long-handled gardening tool. Ho is slang for whore.
