Jeopardy Battle Of The Decades

Brad Rutter is going up against Ken Jennings today in the "Battle Of The Decades" Jeopardy finals match.

Both of these guys have won a few million dollars on this show. It should make for an interesting match!

Heh... you would think that a former champ wouldn't be crazy enough to bet it all on a Daily Double that late in the game... I guess not 🙂

Friday's match should be pretty cool.

Caught the show late, money total very tight going into final.

I did get the answer for the final myself, so that was a nice /flex.

i think friday should still be an even match between the three - roger can overcome brad's 10k with one of those crazy bets he usually does well on

brad has speed
ken has the answers
roger is the wildcard

im not watching this but 2 weeks ago the final jeopardy category was "Album Cover"

and i nearly lost my shit

Jeapordy is really hard.

In a two-show match, that is still pretty early in the game.

It was a Daily Double on an $800 clue in Double Jeopardy. In other words, what should be the second-easiest question in the category. Betting it all there is a must, unless you are awful in the category.

The Jeopardy producers really like dragging these guys out. This is what, the 3rd time they've been put against each other now?

Rutter is historically the better player, but Jennings gives him a run for his money (and if Watson was competing, it would kick both their butts).

Though you have to feel sorry for the poor bastard that's the 3rd man.😛

Edit: Now there's a cruel clue! 😱

Some of our champions know how this champion felt when he lost a 1997 match to IBM's Deep Blue computer

I am cheering for Roger, I like how he takes his time and thinks before he answers. He would have had ~20K going into Final if not for "the word of the day". I was very surprised at the number of wrong answers.
Is anyone here ready for Alex's replacement?

id like to see ken win since brad has had the upper hand on him, but its just fun to watch regardless. i like roger, hes a worthy 3rd, though my wife was cheering for colby. he had a good run too.

But this is Roger's thing, he takes that risk and bets it all. He did it back to back when he picked both Daily Doubles in a row in the ToC for the year he was in. And this is his only chance to compete against either Ken or Brad.

I liked that you could hear Ken Jennings say "do it" right before Roger says he's risking it all. I wonder if Ken felt guilty about that.
