jellyfish the size of sumo wrestlers

I can't help but feel slightly smug over this, the Japanese as a nation have caused so much havoc and destruction in the seas, it's long past time they suffered some "payback" from the ocean's depths..

Super blobs' deep impact

"jellyfish the size of sumo wrestlers... massive sea creatures, which can grow two metres wide and weigh up to 220 kilograms, are clogging and ripping fishing nets, causing havoc for fishermen who have to spend hours hacking them out of their nets."

I partly agree about the Japanese. Killing 240 whales for "research"? Yeah.. right. Of course, every developed country overfishes, and the US is extremely resistant to preserves that would actually INCREASE yields.

damn thats a big jellyfish. When i was like nine i was the first of over 300 people to get stung by jellyfish at Fort lauderdale beach...i'll never forget that day. I got stung on my thumb and forarm and it just hurt bad...but I'll never forget the picture of a girl my age at the time walking from the beach to her mom covered head to toe in gooey mess....
