Jeff Smith 'Frugal Gourmet' dead at 65.

He used to have a great show. Unfortunately, I lost all interested in Jeff Smith when the allegations of his "priestly" mis-steps towards little boys broke out.

What was sad was those allegations appearently had no merit and he had to pay them off to shut up. He always told about the history of the dishes he was making, which was the best part. It was really fascinating to hear how things we eat today came into play.

I'm not sure about that - there were eight alleged victims, each of whom told a similar story in separate interviews, about being groomed and given wine, then kissed, touched, and eventually raped. Here's an article about it. Obviously I wasn't there, and frankly I'm torn - if he was guilty he got off too easy, and if he was innocent it was tragic that he basically surrendered his career due to false allegations. Who knows . . .
