Jeff Sessions is using Romans 13 to justify taking children from parents. Let's look at Romans 13, shall we?

Romans 13
(He is literally declaring authoritarian rule by claiming divine providence)
1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Wait, why does he think that OUR government has been ordained by God instead of all the Governments specifically set up around their Gods rules? Governments that we, including virtually every Republican, loves to hate btw.

And not that I wouldn't love for this asshole to fuck off with his religious BS, is it really a violation of church and state for him to base his opinions off of his religion? Especially since he isn't a judge.

The problem is that Sessions doesn't know what he is talking about. There is a difference between following the law and using it as a justification for cruelty. That's what Acosta was hammering Sanders about, and that is there is no provision in the law that requires this treatment and there is much what could be quoted that supports this separation as being at odds to Christianity. But Sessions thinks he's a Christian as many do. If there is a judgment day as he envisions it I wonder how he and Sanders will fare? "I'm a patriotic American, let me in!" wouldn't matter in the slightest.

It seems a bit odd for a group that constantly brings up "the principles on which our country was founded" to reference scripture about towing the line in regard to the government and paying your taxes. Do they remember that our country was founded by rebelling against the English monarchy (the government), which included a refusal to pay taxes? How could the country have been found on Godly principles if its inciting moment was against His word? 😱

This is indeed terrifying.
Here we have once again a so called self proclaimed CHRISTIAN twisting biblical scripture into what THEY want it to mean.
AND....
To justify their insane perverted moral values to make law and take actions to harm, oppose, punish, destroy those that they oppose.

People like this should NEVER be allowed anywhere near the helm of our government or our politics.

Nobody thinks Sessions was pushed to separate children from their mothers by Trump so as to raise such a stink it would cause him to be forced to resign. As I see it, if Trump can find a way to get rid of Sessions without firing him, he will put Pruitt as acting AG and he will stop Mueller.

I wish I knew a way to raise a world wide threat that people who obey and participate in this pogrom to separate children from their mothers will be charged and face trial for human rights violations Nuremberg style. The slick comfort of our border security officials to participate in such violence is deeply disgusting and indicative of the near total degeneration of everything America once stood for that made us a beacon to the world. We are sliding into becoming a nation of sleeping zombies with fascists pulling the strings if we are not actually already there.

The very founding of this nation was in defiance to, and a rejection of the divine right of kings.

It is beyond insane that a US government is claiming divine providence when the very founding of this nation was based on forbidding that very thing.
