So what do flat earthers think about this?

It can no longer be a government conspiracy that the earth is round. We now have 2 private companies who also can confirm it is round.

How are they handling all of this?
Bezos didn’t enter orbit so he can’t confirm the earth is round.

Jeff Bezos: "I wanna thank every Amazon employee and every Amazon customer because you guys paid for all this."

Talk about being tone deaf.

Having said that, I bet my purchase of the 55 gallon drum of lube put this mission over the top.

THIS has to be the most expensive carnival ride ever made. And the price of a ticket..... wow.
Surely if someone wants to teeter totter on the edge of space, Disneyland could come up with a better ride. And a lot cheaper.
I'm surprised Bezos didn't rig the thing to explode, then he could find out if he really could take his money with him.....

Well I know the earth is round because every time I look through a magical truth-revealing fish-eye lens I see the real world as it actually is.

Boringly serious analysis of the 'issue'.

The other point is - it doesn't seem as if the billionaire class have a lot of faith in the system that made them rich, seeing how they all appear so eager to find a way off of this planet.

I find the hate for these guys flying into space ridiculous. It's their money that they are spending, not tax-payer. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If I had that kind of money I would do the same shit, and WHOLE lot of people would to as well. So lets stop with all the hand wringing about you saving the Earth and shit.

Yeah, except a least BO and SpaceX have gotten tons of government money (SpaceX has put it to very good use, however). Also none if them pay any taxes.

Also, I don't get why everyone is making such a deal about rich people doing less than we could do as a nation 60 years ago. I don't get why the dick measuring contest gets so much attention.

Cause momentum. In a few years Saturn-V like *reusable* rockets will be mass produced as they were 747's.

Which has literally nothing to do Bezos and his dildo.

This is the problem people think what Branson and Bezos are doing are somehow even somewhat comparable to what SpaceX is doing.

It always amazes me how one billionaire can get nothing but praise for sending rockets into space but another billionaire gets total shit and ridicule for it.

Like one billionaire is better than the other or some shit like that lol give me a fucking break......they're all the same and so is their end goal regardless of the message they push to the public.

Personally I think it's pretty badass that Blue Origin sent a rocket into LEO and I can't wait to see what they do next.

It will be interesting to see how fast Blue Origin advances. Space is one area of technology where money = progress and Mr. Bezos has a lot of money to burn. I’m also impressed with Mr. Bezos putting his personal butt on top of his rocket. The failure rate on rockets is still pretty dang high.

Assuming we are comparing SpaceX to Blue Origin here, SpaceX was the first private company to send cargo and astronauts to the ISS. They have provided significant competition to the entrenched market and are helping to drastically lower launch costs. Blue Origin may help drive costs lower in this market, but are coming in well behind SpaceX. So far they haven't

Blue Origin also hasn't made it to LEO - Low Earth Orbit. This was a sub orbital flight. A flight to LEO requires speeds 7-8 times faster and designing a capsule capable of re-entry, heat shield and all.

This flight was a step in the direction of being an actual launch company but they aren't there just yet. And to some it looks like a joy ride by it's CEO.
