Jeez, when will the day come that you can choose your exact channel lineup?

Seriously, me and the kids probably watch a total of 10 of the 200 channels that I pay for, the rest are garbage. I couldnt help but think what are the reasons that subscribers cant pick and choose the exact channel lineup they want and pay accordingly.

many reasons. besides that they cable co does not want to. but if you did many channels would go away. granted we do not need 8 releigious channels.

Shoot, my channel listing would be fairly simple. History Channel, Sci-Fi Channel, Discovery Channel, some local/national news channels, maybe Comedy Central.

gosh, what kind of evil, capitalistic society must we be if people who make products that cost more than they're worth have to go out of business?
granted we do not need 8 releigious channels.
oh i doubt it will be those channels that go out of business.

i agree. that if they go out they go out. BUT the cable company is in business to make as much money as they can. While i agree it sucks i can see why they do what they do. I do not think that a cable company should have monopoly rights in an area. but many places they do.

I was thinking the same exact thing a few weeks back. Yesterday I blocked about 300 channels that are just completely worthless. What service do you have, cable? The DirecTV package I have has about ten kids channels; Nik1, 2, Noggin, etc. It might be worth the switch.
