Good lord! why would you insult a system like that with win98? At least put 2k on there :)

Don't feel bad Spanky007, I just recently made the jump to w2k.

Hella glad I did though. I kept putting it off for some reason.

Originally b/c back before the SP2 came out, I had heard there were alot of instablity issues esp with games.

After that, I think it was just b/c I was intimately familiar with 98se so I kept procrastinating.

Anyhow, 2 more hours and I get to go home :D.

well... one big problem i have with win2k is that it feels slower. when i say slower... i mean when i navigate around my desktop or whatever. in win98, whenever i left click on something, a menu usually pops up oretty quickly. but in win2k, there is a slight delay. does anyone else notice that?

Nope. I didn't have any problem with that when I was running 2k on my p3 866EB (of course it did have 640MB of ram...:) ), and I don't have any problem with my new 1.6A @2.1ghz (could push it more, don't feel like it) running XP.

slight problem for slower pc's.. but you get used to it. your notice that its multitasking capabilitys are far better then win98, the menu might sometimes be sluggish, but u can run a ton of sh*t together without any worry. with win98 theres always the definete chance of your system crashing at any mommment, and you know it.

just partition your drive with partition magic(you better partition so your o/s's are separate from your media junk for easy backup)..and install win2k for dual boot. i havn't touched my win98 boot for atleast a year:p

Nef?

My regular schedule for friday/saturday starts out around 5:30 a.m. friday morning off to work, get home and do the usual stuff while waiting for my wife to get off work between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. (saturday morning) when I go pick her up, we get home usually around 3:00 a.m. and watch a DVD, she falls asleep during it most of the time but I keep going, check the forums and e-mail and play some Q3 (best time to play for low pings :D) before going to bed and watching some early morning "this old house" and conking out around 8:00 a.m. 26.5 hours :p and I do this every week :D
