argh, i keep getting "invalid password" on every sever i try to join, how can i see which ones need a password?

I have the exact same problem. Every server I try to get onto says that. It takes me 10 trys to find one thats not private

I keep getting packet errors that boot me to the main menu after 30-60 seconds.
