Jedi Knight II, a GF2 Pro, and a Nostromo....

Hey, wasn't sure if this would be better here or in Software, but I think it's more hardware related, so....

First, the Nostromo:
Love the gaming pad, and it worked flawlessly on HL Blue Shift and Serious Sam 2. On JKII, I have problems with combo's of keys activating different keys - i.e. crouch+down+left will activate the PDA thingy - VERY annoying, and potentially life threatening! I'm having similar problems using buttons 4 and 5 on my MS Explorer mouse - anything mapped to button 4 also activates button 2 90% of the time.
Any ideas for potential solutions? I have downloaded the most recent patch for the game, and I'm using the most recent drivers for the Nostromo and the mouse.

Now the video card:
I can play just fine with everything turned on except volumetric shadows - that effect mattered the least to me, so I left it at simple shadows. The game seems to slow down during the lightsaber duels. Feels like there's a lag sometimes between my button pushing and the game's reacting. Not sure if it's the video card, or if the game is just like that, but I'm wondering if uprading/overclocking would fix it.

BTW my system is a P4 1.8GHz, 512MB PC800 RDRAM, Win2K Pro, TBSC soundcard - and I do have EAX on because the sounds are WAY better.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for any suggestions.

I have the same problem, along with the button becoming 'stuck' in the game even though it's not physically stuck.

Also I've gotten the impression that EAX slows me down a bit, although I haven't run any benches to test this. One thing I've noticed it that with it enabled footsteps are WAY louder than they should be. I'll hear players through a wall in another room and it sounds like they are right on top of me.

Hmph....problems, but no solutions....oh well, first time ATGH forum has failed me - I'll chalk it up to bad luck! 😀
