Jedi Knight 2 Multiplayer

Is it just me or is the multiplayer pretty sucky right now?

I mean, first of all I keep getting this "Parse" disconnect error all the time.

Second, when I run a server there aren't NEARLY enough options. For example maybe I just want to disable one force power (THAT DAMN LIGHTNING), but no, I can't just disable that power and let all the other ones work.

Is it just me, or does force regeneration seem to happen extremely slow on multiplayer? I mean it takes forever to charge up, what's the deal?

Overall, multiplayer is a royal pain in the ass and i'm afraid it's making me hate the game. (I LOVED single player, it was fantastic).

Oh and another thing, I heard something about wall walking? How do I do that?

Wall walking is easy. You need full force jump, then line up parallel to a wall. Get running along it, jump, and move towards the wall in mid air. You should take several steps on it. It's almost exactly like lining up for a wall ride in Jet Set Radio and Tony Hawk Pro Skater.

Force lightning is waaaayy overused. I usually play as a light jedi with absorb on, it stops it from damaging me and I can run up and cut them in half.

As long as I get on a fast server, lag isn't a problem for me.

Well i wouldn't really know. I can't get past 3 minutes of MP play without that retarded parse error. Such a pain in the a$$

Yeah I can't even host a game without disconnecting myself (wtf?).

Where's skoorb and the guys? I know they've played this game.

its best to find a low ping dedicated server, a lot of stupid people are trying to host on their cable connections, etc and it simply is not enough. It sucks cause if you can't find one i keep having trouble with "connection interuppted" BS crap, but when you can find one its really fun, espically the duel's.

Are you guys with the parse error's running a cracked version of JKII?

I BOUGHT the game, but I put a cd crack on it so I didn't have to mess around with the CD...and I keep getting an error in MP now that I hacked it after a few seconds/minutes into a MP game.

I have the cd, but I have it installed on 3 computers so I have the no cd cracks. I don't know what the deal is with these parse errors, it's rediculus.

Also how do you choose to be a light or dark jedi? And what's with all the new force powers in multiplayer? Man talk about a pain in the ass.

I prefer blue. It is fast, good blocking, nice slashes/cuts, etc.

Red is great, as it is uber-powerful....but so damn slow that by the time you come down with your huge swing, the guy has already killed you or gotten out of the way.

you dont need full jump for wall walking, you can do it with second level jump (at least in the single player game). And to wall walk, you have to already be pushing up against the wall when you start moving forward, so strafing towards it and moving forward, and then jumping will make you wall walk.

if you just move towards the wall while in the air you wont walk on it

(this is how it is in single player at least, i would think multiplayer would be the same though)

my current favorite stance is also blue... i just crouch and keep pushing forward/primary which does the little stab forward and swing up. It seems to be undefendable or something like that and I kill a lot of people with it (bots i mean). I don't seem to do very good when trying to actually jump around and do various swing types... they always block me and turn around in a circle and slash my legs and kill me... Any good strategy sites for jedi outcast yet?

Man, I am sick of joining multiplayer games and having those posers hit you non stop with lightning, what kind of fight is that?

And can anyone tell me how to choose light/dark powers? I can't seem to figure that out If i'm going to be fighting losers with non stop lightning, i'd like to even the scores a little bit.

Go back to GameCopyWorld. Download No-CD #2 (by BugHUNTER/EVO) , which includes a loader for the multiplayer instead of a new exe. With that I didn't get the parse error whereas other no-cd patches did.
