Levi's are uncomfortable, even the relaxed fit ones suck. I wouldn't spend $200 on jeans, but Levi's are crap. I wear Ecko, about $70-$80 retail, $25-30 on clearance. So much more comfortable than Walmart/Target/Levi jeans, and they last longer too.

Females notice, I definitely get more attention, a lot of females appreciate a man who dresses up a little, it's not even about them being shallow. A lot just like a well kept man. And nothing says un kept like Target jeans & Payless shoes. But if you're not trying to attract females I guess jeans from Old Navy are good enough *shrug*

Why would you want a girl that is only attracted by expensive jeans?

I understand this is the wrong forum to post about designer jeans, but honestly who cares what you do with your money as long as you enjoy it?

Some people like dishing out big bucks for graphics cards. Some people like doing the same for jeans.

I don't have any diesels (for some reason, I was never a big fan of them) but I have my share of Sevens, True Religions, and apc's. Is it worth the $100-300 price tags? I can tell you straight up. It's not. None of my clothes are worth the money. It's irrational and yes, it might be downright stupid. But you know what? I enjoy my clothes and while others can scoff and laugh all they want, the fact that it's my money and I don't mind spending it on clothes should be enough for everyone.

To CasioTech and evident. I ventured into apc's, I ordered the New Standard's two sizes down and turned out it was way too skinny for me as mentioned. I returned them and got the Rescue's, which is still a straight leg but roomier. Again, two sizes down and I am in the process of breaking them down gradually. It's a great jean and I love the subtle look and the natural fade that will ensue with many more wears down the road.

um it's not only that, but that is part of the package. Most females I've met like a man who dresses well. Some people dress to impress, I wouldn't consider $100 jeans expensive if they last you for a couple years. But than again I spend 70 bucks on a mouse for my computer. It all depends on what your priorities are, more females than not will give you a second look if you're dressed nice, and unless you look like Brat Pitt it's very hard to pull off an outfit from Old Navy. And it's not them being shallow, ina job interview you don't want to walk in wearing a $50 suit from Ross. Your clothes say a lot about who you are. And a man in $100 jeans in a womans eye is probably more willing to buy her a Coach bag then a dude who buys his clothes from TJ Max.

When looking at a man females tend to start at the shoes and work their way up. If you have on nice shoes and some designer jeans that's a plus. Now there are a lot of females who don't give 2 shits what brand your jeans are, but the females men tend to desire are at least a tad bit materialistic. And don't want to be seen in public with a man who dresses like a bum.

and to faenix, I don't agree about it not being worth it, how I was dressed played a part in my GF wanting to talk to me, she liked my outfit and my style. So yeah I spent a little extra on my clothes, but it ended up helping me get the woman I hope to be with forever, seems like a good investment to me. She likes plenty of other shit about me, but initially all she had to go on was my appearance and nothing else, that is what made her want to talk to me.

Honestly...for the best quality fabric (durability wise)...some of the cheapest jeans you can buy are the best. The high priced designer jeans are made out of fabric that's been worn to hell to make it comfortable.

That being said..I still pay $100 for jeans as I prefer the feel of more comfortable jeans and dont' wear them enough to cause any real problems...I easily get 5+ years out of a pair...and by then the cut is looking old anyway.

Denim manufacturers spent years and years perfecting the process to the point where the material looked too good to consumers...then everyone wanted beat-up jeans and the "good fabric" is only used on cheap jeans (like Wranglers). Funny how it works.

<--- used to work for a Denim manufacturer

I hope you are not male because if you are, you have no man card. And if you do have one it is pink and counterfeit.

Dude, just because you can't afford something doesn't make it gay for others.

Some are buying $200 jeans because that's what the stores they go to for clothing sell.

Not every rich dude want's to be a baller and run down to the hood for 'old school' clothes.

Meanwhile no one bitches about RocaWare / Sean/etc hoodies selling for $100+

I'm trying to think of the last clothing item I bought that was more than 100 bucks. The only thing that comes to mind is a pair of boots.

So tell me- you guys and your $200 jeans...I guess you never see the underside of a car or do any work outdoors.., or do you just buy a new pair every month or two?

Spending more than $30 for a pair of jeans is insanity, and even that's pushing it. I like to keep it cheap, because I destroy at least 3 pairs of those fuckers a year.

well, if you paid a little more, you'd only be destroying one pair per year

now who's insane?

It would not matter in the slightest. These things get shredded apart on the rocks. Fabric quality won't make the slightest bit of difference on Sierra granite.

Dude, no offense, but you are ignorant as they come. I am not even gonna go into the loser part.

I get my jeans from express since they're the only place that seems to make pants for thin men, like me, who don't want the back pockets bouncing off the back of my knees. Even levis has a tendency to make clothes for chubby guys so finding nicely fitting clothes forces me into express, usually. I don't mind paying $50 to $100 for a pair of jeans that fits and looks good. $13 k-mart specials tend to be cut very generically and assume I'm carrying around a spare tire.

Its funny cause they're all made at the same sweat shop. :p

The 25 dollar jeans just send 20 dollars in profit, or more, to the corporation. The 200 dollar jeans send 195 dollars to the corporate parent.

I would like to throw my opinion in:

In 99% of all cases, I firmly believe in "you get what you pay for". No matter if we are talking about food, clothing, cars, etc. Sure there are the things that don't really matter, but even then, they are few and far between.

With that said, I do not own one pair of jeans that cost more than $50. (even that to me is a bit much however I have a very difficult time finding a pair that fits in all the right places. For those that spend more for jeans, I assume (and hope) they fit like they are custom made for you.

Everyone saying that $200 jeans are stupid... who cares? If you do not have to pay for them, why should you care if someone else does? I could say the same thing about spending thousands on a computer or shelling out top dollar for a new phone that comes out. Everyone has their own priorities and that is ok.

Back to the jeans... I agree that people do perceive you as a certain way if you are dressed nicely... but that does not mean a woman is going to be looking for a certain tag on a pair of pants or shirt. (well, I am sure some do, but those gals... well, if that is what you are looking for then, good luck). I have said this before and will always stand by my beliefs... Clothes should NOT make the person. The person in them should be the one who makes the clothes look good. It is all about confidence. However, if you feel most confident sportin designer duds, go for it. Just don't make your body a billboard for labels.
Females and males alike will look at others who are confident in who they are and how they dress their body properly. If someone is confident, it shows.

After reading the last thread that someone posted here, I found some jeans that I like at Express. You have to be picky though, their jeans either suck or they're great. I've gotten a lot of complements on them. Go with something like straight leg, dark jeans.

You must have a huge torso or something, you're 5" taller than me with the same inseam.

They have a beat-up pair of cheap jeans for that. But many here will wear that same pair of jeans they've been working under their car(unwashed) with out to the bars.

No there not. Get a clue. The more expensive jeans are made in the US, Italy, etc.

I usually don't find myself replying to threads like these, but seriously guys. Most of you, per the "virginity poll" are guys who probably don't get out much, no offense. Others here I'm sure grew up like me in the country, I definitely can respect that. But if your from a large or largish city, and you want to go out, get a few pairs of nice jeans. Ladies aren't attracted to you because you spend alot of money of your clothes, their attracted to the style and how you make it work, they like guys who can dress themselves, if you can do that with a $30-40 outfit more power to you, but most of you CAN'T.

With that said, my man card is status is doing just fine, and I own a pair of $150 jeans, and few pair of $50 dollar jeans.

To answer OPs question, Jcrew and buckle will run you about 40-70 depending on the jeans and sale prices. Tyler jeans from buckle are pretty nice for 50.
