Are they a good replacement for my infinity P163s? Do they have good mid range for the price?

They have less sensitivity and that shouldn't be a problem since I don't need to hear them 150 feet away.

I love my HK3490 the thing is amazing, I just haven't loved the p163s that much because they don't accept banana plugs and they aren't that good at low volume. They're also a little bass heavy for my liking.

Fortunately, I have some BJC cables with locking banana plugs on both ends that they ultrasonically welded so I can't wait for my ES30s to arrive.

Also, if anyone wants to buy my P163s... they're for sale on AT FS/T. I haven't bumped that thread's ass in a while though.

You need to learn more about 5-way binding posts.

But yes, mid range JBL bookshelf speakers should sound better than entry-level Infinity bookshelf speakers. Otherwise even Harman might have reservations about charging three times as much for them.

Direct contact is good, but the problem is that neither my dad nor I nor even the guy at ACE could get the wire stripped anywhere near perfectly so I've got to be losing something there.

? how hard is it to strip wires??? just don't touch the copper directly with your finger. Wear some gloves for the twisting.

Pull the plastic plug out of the center of the post, then contemplate the banana jack revealed...

There is no banana jack on the P163s, it accepts bare wire only.

I accidentally bought one (thought I was buying a pair  ), and it had banana jacks.

Maybe you need to remove the caps:

Yeah, I saw your post in FS/FT. The pic above is of a P162.
How do you remove them? I can't get them out buy pinching them.

I feel like a dumbass for not realizing that they could be removed, but the fact that they're in there so tight by default would make anyone wonder what the hell they are.

NVM: I got them out.:)

Had the same problem too (for about 15 minutes) before I realized the caps could come out. They should not be there anyway.
