JB weld in lieu of AS Adhesive?

A guy I work with was telling me how good JB weld is at heat transfer. Does this sound like a good idea? The nice thing about JB weld is I can get it locally as opposed to buying another thermal adhesive online and waiting a few days.

I will be gluing a heatsink on the processor of a little NAS box thing I have. It keeps overheating.

I can't tell you if JB weld is a good idea, but there's also a Zalman adhesive which is considerably cheaper than AS.

Well JB weld comes in two tubes, the hardener and the resin. The resin would work perfect...maybe. But once you mix them it would suck at what you intend it to be doing.

lmao. jb weld is used as a welding substitute which bonds 2 metals together. if you put that onto your processor when you would try to pull it off youd rip it out of the socket and destroy the entire thing. the resin as stated might be good tho. just DO NOT put that hardener on their.

I'd think the whole purpose of a jb weld would be to permanently mate the IHS to the HSF. Removing the processor would be a non-issue.

I've used super glue before to put an old Socket 7 heatsink on a GF4 Ti 4600 and it worked pretty well, although I had to scrape and reapply it every now and then. I'm sure JB Weld would be a bit better.
