Jazz and Comedy Clubs in NYC?

A few of my college buddies are visiting from around the country. We decided to take a weekend trip down to NYC. Before I start looking around online I'm just wondering if you native New Yorkers here have any recommendations for good comedy or jazz clubs.

The Village Vanguard is worth checking out for Jazz.

Comedy cellar, make reservations online a few days in advance for the weekend shows.

So I ended up seeing the Kenny Barron Quartet at the Village Vanguard. It wa absolutely sublime. Good call, thanks!

goto the Upright Citizens Brigade theater, they have a good show on sunday nights 7pm and 9pm (you need to line up for the 9pm one as it is first come first serve)
