I know that most of you dont know who Jay is, but he was sort of a local legend around here. He wasa professional surfer, but he stood apart from the crowd of pros because he was a genuinely caring person, he was one of the few who just plain had no ego. He was always helpful and kind, and always smiling. Although he wasn't a close personal friend of mine, I did surf with him on occasion....
He drown yesterday, in a diving accident in the south pacific. He would have been 23 years old today. For those of you that pray, please have your prayers be with his wife Kim, who I'm sure could use any support she can get right now.
