Jimmy Kimmel, late night host of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" told Leno on his show on Thursday: "Listen Jay, Conan and I have children, all you have to take care of is cars. I mean, we have lives to lead here, you've got $800 million. For God's sake, leave our shows alone." http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_nbc
I like Leno, but perhaps it is time for him to graciously pass the torch to the next generation.

He's definitely worth more money than I'll ever see in my lifetime. Or any of my family's lifetime for that matter. Hell, his garage is worth more than I'll ever see in my lifetime. :p

I wouldn't pay $1 for any of the late night host on tv now. I stopped liking late night tv when johnny left.

PR nightmare? Its a ratings bonanza. If this were staged, it would be the most brilliant thing NBC did in the last 10 years.

How much press did the leno/letterman feud get back in the early 90's? I wasn't paying attention to late night then. I still don't. :D

Let's see how Jay Leno does with no good 10:00 PM lead-in show.

I'm sure he'll clean up and, along with his buddy Jerry Seinfeld's "Marriage Ref" show, lead NBC's rise back to the top.

Why wouldn't he be worth that? If NBC, and more importantly advertisers, think that is his worth, then that is his worth.

Sounds like a winning plan to me. NBC just can't loose in this situation.

Between the length of time he's been doing TV and the endorsement deals he's had because of it, yeah, I'd believe he's pushing a billion.

Also, his old cars are rarely, if ever, driven. Old cars do ot go down in value when stored and kept well, so this also adds to his wealth.

I remember the Home Improvement episode where Jay played a role of a car mechanic in his garage and it showed some of his cars. He has an awesome collection.

NBC has been way behind in the ratings for so long now. It's not like for the entire 15 yeats Jay was on top NBC had great lead-in shows. They obviously did for many years, but Jay maintained a dominate lead for a long time without top rated shows. Jay always beat Letterman, and often times Letterman had a much higher rated lead-in show like CSI. Tell me the last good lead in Jay had besides ER? Mind you that was only on once a week. Even if you give Jay Law & Order helping him, there were still 3 other days he dominated without shit on before him.

One reason he's worth so much, he works much harder than anyone else on late night. Letterman has a shit ton of repeat shows every year. Leno almost never took time off of the Tonight Show, and when he did it was only to go to Vegas to do a stand up shows every night for a week. Even if you hate him and don't find him funny. Nobody can say shit about his worth ethic. This is a guy who's worth well over half a billion, and still never takes time off. He would work 365 days a year if NBC let him.

i don't think so, if leno really takes conans spot he will have done so at the cost of having a tarnished name with many people.

I like Conan but reality is that Jay mopped David Letterman every night for the last 15 years. Conan is a niche show and his humor is a bit silly and doesn't appeal to most.

Poor Kimmel. How will he manage to feed his children with only tens of millions of dollars, and not hundreds of millions?

He sucks anyway, his jokes are more of a threat to his paycheck than Jay Leno "stealing" his ratings.

I think they tried that, problem is conan wasnt good enough. I like conan but he isnt right for the tonight show. He lost a ton of viewers when they switched. Leno has the lead for so long and when they switched conan lost the ratings.

I believe he's saying don't mess with our shows because before he got his 10:00 disaster-err show, he was in talks with ABC to do a show in Kimmel's slot.

No the problem was that Leno wasn`t good enough.....
Sorry to burst your bubble but had Leno been good enough this whole fiasco would have been averted....

Leno bombed and now Conan will have to pay....

Yet I would bet Conan and his side kick and the band all get handsome severance checks....

That's a vary narrow view of the situation, Conan bombed too, and NBC decided to switch back to something that had been proven for 15 years. If Conan had dominated Letterman and ruled late night when he moved to 11:35. He wouldn't be getting booted off the network, so it definitely goes both ways. If Conan had pulled old Leno numbers do you really think NBC would have decided to put Jay back? fuck no. Both are responsible here, and strangely enough, either could have been responsible for preventing this.

Conan is a good comedy writer but I've never liked his show. Leno is better in front of the camera IMO.

I wonder how Kimmel's staff making on average probably $60,000 a year tops feels about poor him and Conan. lol. Yeah, most TV people aren't rich.
