javascript:openwindow and links web browser

i'm trying to use the links web browser over putty to configure my router and one of the router configuration pages is a popup window. when i try to click the button (click on right-arrow or hit enter to follow the link) to open the window, nothing seems to happen. anyone know if there is support for popup windows in links or any other browser i can run from within putty?

i am connecting with ssh, but i don't have X installed on the machine i'm connecting to, so i can't open an X-based web browser over my ssh connection.

Why not just use a regular web browser to get the URL of the page the javascrip😱penwindow opens and paste the URL into lynx?

i don't have access to the web page through any browser other than links and whatever i might install on my gentoo box. is there a way of knowing what url is accessed when i click on this button, while i'm in links?
