Javascript links don' t work

There are some links, which when clicked on, do absolutely nothing. They do change color when hovering, and they are definitely clickable links. These links are shown at bottom left of browser in Status bar as
shortcut to javascript:xxxxxxx with a description after the colon.
This happens with all such links and no others, and on any page with such a link
How to correct?

WXP retail, service pack SP1, and all critical & recommended updates
IE6, all updates

All java options enabled in IE6

I've disabled NAV, zonealarm, Intel Application Accelerator....no change.

All non javascript links work.

Thanks...updated to latest version 1 week ago, to see if it would help, but it didn't. Also tried Sun Java...still no joy.

Popup stopper installed (Adsubtractpro). I've disabled it to no avail. Following page is example:

http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?a=cfrm&s=50009562

Click New>Topic>Case and Cooling Fetish

Note before final click, Left side of Status Bar shows shortcut to javascript:xxxxxxxx

When I click absolutely nothing happens....the page stays the same. This is true for any javascript link on any page.

Thanks for your efforts.

$10 says it's your pop-up stopper. Figure out the sticky key to temp disable it (something like hold down shift while clicking). Half of them don't know how to uninstall themselves and the other half can't disable themselves when you check the box..

🙂

Try making your own javascript page that doesn't create a popup but instead changes the location of the address bar when clicked. That will most likely work, confirming that it is the popup stopper.
