Java Virtual Machine Problem

I have just reinstalled XP after formatting my system, even though Java is Enabled within my IE 6 security settings everytime i go to a site containing java a pop-up comes up.

This pop-up askes me to download and install Java Virtual Machine but when i click "download" a new screen loads up saying that the Auto install is no longer available for XP.

I have tried going to the download centre within Microsoft.com and scanning my system for all updates, i've installed every update that was listed.

can anyone help with this problem?

the JVM is not part of windows XP. Microshit has stopped offering JVM on their website & I have no clue where to find it.

You can dl it here:

MS Java is some 1.x version though, so you are probably better off dling the Sun 2.x version from the Sun website.
