Java version support in Red Hat 7.0 or 6.2

Just bought RedHat 7.0 Prof Svr edition and learned that Java 1.2.2 doesn't work and the 7.0 doesn't support 1.3. Anyone know a qork around or if Red Hat 6.2 supports either?
