Java script is not working on my computer. I tried reloading JRE onto it, no luck. It will do applet type things, but if for an example if I click on the glasses to get a profile of someone on this board it won't do anything, what do you recommend I do. I reckon this happen when it asked for either the office cd or the windows xp cd and I ignored it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Under Tools, Internet settings, advanced, and under SUN it has Use Java 2 v1.4.0_02 for <applet> (requires restart) checked.
Also right under that Microsoft VM has three things checked: Java console enabled (requires restart), Java logging enabled, and JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled(requires restart)

That basically all that is under the advanced tab that I can see that would have to do with this.

Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security. If there's a button that says Custom Level, click it. Scroll Down the list to 'Scripting' and under 'Active Scripting' make sure the radio button is on enabled. If there's no custom level button and it's set to high, put it on medium. If there's no custom level button, and it's not set to high, I have no idea. :) Good luck

Edit- duh, the custom level button will always be there, I thought it disapeared when set to one of the default zones, but that wouldn't make much sense. You can just click that button no matter what zone it's on.

Java and Javascript are COMPLETELY different products, by different companies, with different uses. They have no relation to each other at all. You do NOT need the JVM installed to run javascript.

It's entirely dependant on your web browser.
