Java script and Internet Explorer problem

My mother has an online account which uses a Java script to access the account details.

I've actually done this on my Win ME computer and the site makes you download a Java application so enable you to view the account.
She is also using Win ME and for some reason when she eventually gets to her login details etc - the application just seems to freeze and she has to ctrl-alt-delete out of it.

I'm wondering if this is likely to be a Java problem or not?

I have asked her to repair IE 6 and also she has followed various suggestions from the sites tech support - changing the internet option settings for VM etc. All with no success.

I'm wondering if she should try another browser and see if she gets the same problem?

She does not seem to have any trouble accessing other online based accounts and reports no other problems with her PC in general.

Any ideas?

i've experienced IE using Sun Java instead of Msft VM. You might want to check the settings in IE to make sure it's using microsoft's vm and not sun java.

well the options in IE that I am aware of are the following:

Java Console Enabled (this is not enable by default)

Java Logging Enabled (this is not enable by default)

JIT Compiler for Virtual Machine (enabled by default)

The webpage recommended my mother to disable JIT compiler and enable Java logging - however she still cannot access her account.

I'm wondering if I should try another browser?

Any further ideas?
