Thanks for the notification but what's going on with Sun?? There's like an update every week for Java now it's not fun anymore updating.

I do not enjoy Java updates, they are as painful as Adobe Acrobat Reader updates, but I suppose more compelling. IIRC, they like to tag along a McAfee scan utility unless you uncheck it.

That's the worst part, if they made it auto-update without user intervention it would be fine. But they won't because they always ask to install the ask toolbar.

hmm, where do you guys get your Java installation files from? I have never ever had a prompt to install any toolbar with Java. I always get the full offline installer from Sun's site and it has no toolbars whatsoever:

The auto-update feature.

I don't think anyone gets the full installer everytime a new version comes out if they can just do the auto-update.

Oh, me personally, the first thing I do when I install Java is to delete the Update Checker entry from start up. I don't need useless crap running at startup despite me having 16 GB of RAM. I like to do it manually since the auto updater is not a silent one like Chrome's auto updater for example, you get a popup showing you the download then installing progress which I don't like
