Java real-time message board w/threads moving up

would a Java real-time message board with threads moving up be practical? it would be kinda cool watching the threads move up and down, kinda like a stock quote streamer
 
Prolly be annoying when ur going down thru a page of threads, then suddenly they all start moving...

I like the idea of having an application to browse/use anything anandtech. Kind of like an aol, but its all based off anandtech, and it would have chat and ims as well.
 
yeah if i was browsing down the list of threads and all of a sudden they dissapeared and i had to scroll to the top to see which ones i missed, i'd be pretty annoyed
