Java or .NET

Hi I have been learning Java for 1 year and Im interested in web development. A lot of people are saying that .net is much better for web development. So my question is should I learn Java web dev or move to .net because I already know Java?

If it's for a job, use whichever one will get you the job and/or more money. If it's just to learn, then learn both. C# and Java are very similar in syntax, but the IDEs are very different.
